Having heard much of this starnge new artifact and the dimension it takes you to, Death entered the gate with great trepidation. With nerves jangling not quite knowing what to expect he patiently waited as the jump timer counted down.

Hmm he thought interesting. Still no real challenge but a difference in alien behaviours.. and that insta shield tech will need watching

Death sat back and took a large swig of his favourite stimulant as he reviewed the debreifing notes from hi latest mission.

then he reviewed his ammo logs... hmm a bit of everything. This he put down to caution but he knew it didn't tell the whole story.. what should he tell his squadron and the cadets?

Abnormal alien behavior, increased range, (the cricling techniques so careful nurtured will no longer work here), Alien auto repair technologies (no leaving them in the corners, protegits could cause a problem here).

Well theres nothing for it but to press on into the unknown.

The logs were starting to reveal a disturbing pattern ... altered alien behavior. The latest wave of enemies played back in Death's mind eye..

* 1 Lordakium with Instant Shield

While not presenting any real problems to the skilled pilot it was the changed behavior that disturbed him. The little lords stuck close to the parent so he had to endure the parents attack whilst slaughtering the littlies. And still .. that improved tech the insta shield nagged away at the back of his mind. Had someone betrayed the humans and sold our tech to them??? (I bet it was those profiteering earther bastards)

Death scratched his head... could they be trying to lul me into a false sense of security? he pondered, after all a noob in a nos could have done that. Hell even jam could do it (he chuckled)
