plz tell me something about that!

OK I already expected Pumba to post this, because of our little 'situation' today. I'll give you my side of the story.

I was online at around 8pm my time (GMT+1). I saw a few guys from our clan playing on another server (tobi, alex and some others). Our own server was empty, but I decided to try and get it filled. So I joined our server all alone. I waited there on my own, until after a while two other guys joined, spiderman199712 and El_Yaqui. We played a few rounds just the three of us.

We were having good fun and started doing some crazy rounds like 'Nades only' or 'Melee only'. We were bored, there was only 3 of us and nobody extra joined. Since it was just the three of us, I saw no harm in messing around a bit. I enabled the cheat that allows you to fly, and we played a few rounds like this. We were laughing our butts of. All 3 of us were having a great time. Score wasn't kept because there weren't enough players. But it was very funny and highly amusing.

Then Pumba joined and was quite angry about the fly-cheat being enabled. I get why he was worried: we want our clan to be professional. But this was completely different. If any other people would have joined, I would have turned off the fly-cheat without hesitating. But it was just 3 friends who were having a laugh. I do not see the harm in that. Quite the opposite actually: I think it's important for an admin to know when to be all serious, but also when it's allowed to goof around. It gives players on our server a welcome and warm feeling.

So, after about 20 minutes I had to log out and ofcourse disabled the fly-cheat. During that time no one else had joined but Pumba. He was pretty upset because of my decision, so I figured there would be a post like this...

To summarize: I don't think I was wrong. It was me and 2 other people, we had a good laugh and it was only for a short duration. There is a time to be all strict, and a time to be a bit loose. I really feel that this was one of these times it was okay to be a little bit crazy and silly. If other people would have joined, I would have changed the settings back to normal in a heartbeat.

i AGREE...this is why I put the cheats on.... If there is some problem with using the cheats then it should be addressed in the forums. No I didn't ask anyone if I can turn it on... But it is there 4 the admins to make that decision... Note..When you enable cheats...you disable the scoring and honor... But if 3 people wish to play this option that is why it is there. I have also thought on playing with them.. it should not be a big deal... If anyone wants to play regular just ask the admin to turn them off... i don't see what's the big deal in this.. All admins know that some will not be happy with this.. Any player can request to turn it off, or join another server. there should be no reason to fight about this. If any member has an issue with it...make it known hereon the forums and we will address it.
