| 27th Panzer Regiment(1939-1945) composed of expendable soldiers - sentenced criminals, court-martialed soldiers and political undesirables. In addition to Sven, they include Alfred Kalb, "Legionnaire" (ex-member of French Foreign Legion and a Muslim); Wolfgang Creutzfeldt, a giant of a man with brute force but no brain ironically named Tiny ; barracks fixer and shrewd thief Joseph Porta; older sergeant Willie Beier nicknamed "Old Un" or "Old Man" who was at least 10 years older than rest of their platoon; Julius Heide, an ex-waffen SS officer and Nazi fanatic who never loses trust in the Fuhrer or Nazi regime; Peter Blom, also nicknamed Barcelona, veteran of both sides of the Spanish Civil War, Gregor Martin, who was a removals man before the war.
