Tips and Tricks

I thought it would be a cool idea to start a topic in which everyone can contribute tips and tricks.
Would be cool if the trick is useful and practical, but is not required.

You might already know them, or find them not useful at all, but no hating, more loving <3
I will start off.

Huey (co)pilot: always lead your aim. Meaning, due to the delay (ping) in the game, people appear to be somewhere they have already been. Some count to shooting people running.

Slicks trick on Reclaiming Hue, fly the Slicks underneath the bridge (US main) until you can convert the flag, then move up and touch the bridge, let go of the 'Up' button and notice you are stuck to it.

When in combat, make yourself as small as possible. When someone is firing at you, lie on the ground/in the grass. This makes you harder to hit.
Of course, when getting a parchute spawn, dont lie down, it makes you bigger =]

All people who hate me in a plane (dont read this bob) kill the helies by shooting the rotor on top, look likes the weakest point, if the heli dousnt die and theres a good pilot/copilot team in it, pull straight up, leave the scene and come back at a not logic attack point.
Make long attack runs , and ease the throttle.

if ur screwed with the corsair and a mig 17 if tailing you...zigzag the hell out of him. somethimes quit hitting the throttle helps, if its {air}piet...forget it

Heli pilots: plz aim high inough for the copilot, at least 1 cm above your target with ur crosshair, otherwise he cant hit the target.

take prioreties! a good mig is your #1 target kill it first or it kills you!

walking:

#1 rule dont be a sitting duck...MOVE!
avoid open spaces, keep against walls prefering buildings which u can enter.
if someone shoots move sideways , its often better to only move left or right , and not both becouse u will enter the bullit hail if u do so.
laying down is ok if the target is far away , but NOT at close combat, keep moving!
its important especially in the junglemaps, to have good sound to hear the enemy, as in: really important.



lag can help u:

most people hate it when they have a bit of a laggy server, witch means ur bullits have a game delay, but the enemy has it also!
Dont shoot ur enemy if it moves sideways, but a littlebit ahead from him.(works at all targets)

teamtricks

no one really works together in nam....only the attack heli guys..
It would help to follow the topplayers in your team, and focus on the flags..

last trick...have fun! someguys are frustrated behind the keyboard, becouse they cant win, put your focus on other things , your only be able to kick ass if u feel like it!

normslly there is no huey slick on hue reclaming
In almost all Servers there is no huey slick. (and in all versions).
Only Exile Community (former Fun Gaming Community) have it.

yep most hints are old....LIKE ME!!! hahaha

Still it amases me that some more exp. players make strange mistakes..

those are some nice tips, butt try to atack me in me heuy whit a mig(when i dont have a cp) you will die anyway against me then, heheheheh, i hear them comming from every side, even when the are atacking from above;).

I always wondered how you hear us coming. You can hear me walk miles away.

I use to circle the flags when taking them, this allows you to take a flag while dodging most SA7s and most Huey attacks, depending on the experience the other pilot has.
Downside: you can't see other helicopters come.
( Does take some practice )

well, a good trick but not very old:
if you are not able to shoot the helicopter with the MG of the plane or you do not want cuz it takes for some players time to shoot it down, use the barrel bombs agains him (nostalgie you learned the trick from me )
fly in the huey`s direction, if you are close to him turn your jet and bomb him, he gets then (if you are skileld to hit) half damage or more,or you can destroy him in one time.

When you fly with jet, use allways the camera behind you, cuz many guys use Sa 7`s and if you see one behind you, you can escape them with turning and so on.

Other tips with huey (sometimes mi :
try to fly as low as possible,you fly fly faster then and it is more difficult for the others`s to hit you with the sa 7 (except he is infront of you or behind,then you are owned,lol)

Escape Sa 7:
Many non experience players think that it is difficult to escape a SA 7 when it flys infrony of you and directly in your face^^, but it is not, You just need to turn your helicopter right, so the rocket will miss you. A good map where you can try it out is Irving,cuz they start to shoot you when you fly towards them.
