Is there going to be oh...an "accounting" for lack of a better way of putting it...of what is going on and upcoming for the Fed side like Boots has been doing for the KDF side?

I hope so, the starbase represents a significant investment of players time and in-game currency.

The system provides very little information to the rest of the fleet and it is up to the leadership to keep the fleet informed. This is even more important in small fleets where investments by individuals are much larger.

The in my opinion the leadership has a duty to give clear direction, keep the fleet informed and be informed by the fleet.

I know it isn't easy. It can take me 15 minutes to a couple hours each day to keep abreast of the fleet's status, make sure affairs are in order and plan accordingly for the short-term and the long-term

Okay yes... i get your meaning... I will start this weekend and you can expect a report once a week at the weekend along with the highest contributors of the week.

I hope this helps...

Also if you see anyone online in the game remind them to join the forums, there are a lack of people joining...

[WARNING: I am a bit irate and the following rant will reflect that feeling. Also this really should have been a private mail but those tend to get ignored forever or a long period of time.]

I don't think you do get the meaning. Not. at. all.

A report card isn't needed. The results are evident. More supplies, starbase progress, more things to do at the starbase, an increase in personal fleet credits, etc.

Reporting who is contributing the most in a week doesn't help. Making a weekly starbase report when the status of the starbase changes everyday doesn't help.

What is needed is leadership. Tell the fleet what is happening and what's going to happen. Make the fleet presentable. Fix the typos and grammar. Stop making whiny message of the day status. Stop trying to strong-arm the members into action with ultimatums you don't even back-up. Start paying attention to your members and they projects. It has taken you a month to notice that I haven't donated to the fleet since you threatened to kick-out half the fleet because they aren't as active as you are, or don't want to commit as much as you. You want people to force people to join the website but take over a fortnight to respond to this thread; the gall! I feel as though you are treating the membership as resources instead of comrades.

The only reason a member will contribute to the fleet is because they want to. You can't most of us with empty titles and you can't force us contribute with threats. There is no short-term benefit in being in either fleet and the long-term benefits depend entirely on the membership's cooperation and the leadership's management skills. If members don't want to do something, they can join another fleet and simply stop playing.

I'll make this bold so you don't gloss over it. Members decide how good the fleet is and how far it will progress, leadership can only decide on the direction and hope the membership agrees with the decision. Right now the fed fleet has no direction, contributing to the federation fleet feels akin giving a panhandler money; you aren't sure what it will be used for and you aren't sure if it will do any good in the long-run.

If someone wants to know what are the next projects like in the kdf fleet, they can simply look at the starbase status page. If they want to know what the current fleet concerns are, they can read the message of the day. If they want to know what the long-term goals or projects are, they can look at the website.

Let me give you some information about the KDF fleet: 2 people have contributed 75% of the resources to the fleet. The top 5 contributed 95%. Fifteen account for 3% more, the other 2% is from ex-fleet members and 10 have contributed nothing. Do I wish more people contributed more? Yes. I there anything I can do to make that happen? No.

The best I can do is provide the opportunity for people to contribute and hope that they will of their own accord. At the same time I have to recognize that not everyone: plays as often as I do; has the same game goals in mind; joined the fleet for the starbase; has the resources to make substantial donations; even cares about the fleet; knows how to donate; has a flexible real-life schedule where they can get on STO whenever they want.

Why don't I threaten them or kick them out? Because, 1. no one in the membership appears to be malicious, 2. any of those above-listed reasons may change for them at any time and we would have lost not only a comrade but their resources as well.

Too long; Didn't Read? You are crippling your fleet with bad management and neglect, while expecting them to break their virtual backs for you.
