When you're flying the Americans in War Thunder, my advice is, always gain speed and altitude. With WEP “OFF”, pitch up as much as you can making sure both speed and altitude are rising. Take note of where your cursor lies on the horizon. WEP “ON” to increase pitch and/or speed temporarily. Also, WEP “ON” when turning to avoid losing too much airspeed. Turn the American plane slowly.

You are looking to be 450 – 500 km/hr before even thinking about an attack.

Altitude should be 1600 – 2000m
When you see a target below you.
Approach at approx. 30° keeping your cursor near the horizon
Try to ascertain the enemies heading
Begin a dive approaching the enemy from the rear
Line up your target at .70 km
Begin firing “Stealth” ammo at .50 km (Gun Targeting at 400m)
You should be going close to 650 - 700 km/hr
What you hit is what you get! Do not turn!
Use your speed to regain altitude and repeat.

When you get better at this
Begin firing “Stealth” ammo at .40 km (Gun Targeting at 300m)
Planes really start blowing up at this distance.

Remember
If you turn you die!
Retreat toward your spawn.
Do not fly under your enemy.
Learn to use “WEP”.
Reload often.
