It happened! The one day I actually give up my daily watch for Armageddon, it happens! Fuck if I know why it happened on this day of all days...but now I'm stuck without any of my survival gear. I don't know what happened other than the day before, I got awesomely drunk (and probably robbed, although money means little at this point in time) and woke up (in a ditch no less! does no one respect a drunk enough to put them in a nice dry cell?) to the city in flames! I don't know what happened except that there are people...and then there are the others. I don't know what to call them but they walk slow until they find you, then they move really fast. When I finally woke up to the chaos, I found an empty bed and breakfast and holed up in there to wait for the greater part of the chaos to die down. I waited all day but the screams and the fires raged on. I raided the remains of the rooms for any gear I could find. Found a small backpack, decent winter clothes and a nifty hat. I also found a small box of matches that I used for cooking some of the food i found down in the kitchen of the BnB. I raided it quickly but the openness of the kitchen (it had 4 windows and three entrances!) scared me, and so I grabbed some meat out of the freezer (already defrosted, I hope I don't get sick from this) and cooked it up in the only room on the second floor without windows. Broke up a chair for the firewood, and kept the door shut, letting out the smoke only as needed. I don't know if they're smart enough to find me from smoke, but no sense taking chances. Nothing else happened today. Trying to sleep now, but the occasional scream keeps me up. I need a weapon. Tomorrow, I'll search for one.
