Well, I've switched over to Windows 10 and getting used to it. Seems like Microsoft has forgotten the K.I.S.S. principle..........

Sigh, did everything I was told--can get on to the loading screen and then the map just sits there and waits. Any suggestions?

I'm still on Win8, so I don't know any specifics. IIRC, what's happening to UT2004 in Windows 10 is that it is actually run as a window by default instead of actual fullscreen. In my experience, that "loading forever" thing happens when I alt-tab on certain maps, such as Hangar. But there are some additional suggestions in the Steam guide I linked you to.

Well, I tried Windows 10 for the last month and just took it off yesterday--a lot of good things there but no way to get rid of Microsoft Edge plus I could not get UT2004 to run so back to Win 7.

I'm running UT2004 on Win 10. I tried this and it worked for me:
"Open your UT2004.ini located in your UT2004/System folder and find (ctrl + f to open searchbox) [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] ReduceMouseLag=True" <--- change to False |

I did......but there were other issues that I did not like with 10, namely Edge. Back to 7.
