However, there is a maximum damage limit for the blood drain ability for balancing purposes because it's pretty easy to establish and maintain the chain(just look at target and keep in distance). I'm still not sure yet whether to increase the max damage limit on the skill, it's a bit too early to tell. There is no max damage limit on the Blood Magic weapon, however, so you can use those. I personally wouldn't invest much in DB starting out in this class. The only ability that needs it is Death Leech, but as a low level it's more than likely that you'll be dead before others. I would start on HP, adren, and DR to work toward resurrection and phantom. |

Loving the necro, my favourite class I’m just sad I can’t convert my medic to it as I only played medic for necro!
Interested to see how it plays at higher levels. Here’s an idea for a subclass; Soulmancer The class would revolve around accumulating the white ghostly souls that soul Nalis rip from enemies. You would summon a number of soul Nali pets as per the old necro loadout, however when the white ghost soul trails produced by the Nalis reach the player they would be stored as ammo for the their “soul cannon” weapon. The soul cannon is a ghostly flack cannon that is recharged by souls. It spends the soul ammo to fire up to 6 of the ghost souls in a ghostly flack cannon style pattern that can travel through terrain and walls. If you run out of soul ammo you can infinitely fire a single “soul” whilst waiting for more souls to fire. Alt fire would release all your stored souls in one go. Extra sources of souls could be produced when enemies die, or from the damage dealt by resurrected teammates and ripping souls from enemies whilst in phantom fork. Ultimately the subclass revolves around harvesting souls through pets and skills and using them through the soul cannon. F8_AL<((AM)) ...........Adren master |

Yeah, Necromancers were more of a prototype thing when they were a subclass under medics, something I can easily remove or update without players making new profiles.
Soulmancer is interesting and it's an expanded version of how Blood Magic works currently(receiving ammo in non-conventional ways to power up a weapon). I have general ideas for Necromancer subclasses - one focusing on resurrection, another on blood magic which would essentially be Soulmancer, just themed differently. Perhaps giving the blood magic subclass new "weapons" like the flak you mentioned. I do want to aim for a third subclass, but not sure whether to focus it on possession or some other skill. I've temporarily removed the plague skill because of a crash it caused with using the Link Gun alt fire. I'll put in a fix or just a whole new approach to it as soon as I can, but it may be a few weeks as I'll be on vacation ![]() |
