Meat Medic is the only guy who uses the bio regularly. We need to ask him what he thinks about it XD.

Yes, I think the "class" text should stand out more too.

5. Can there be a message for newbies to tell them to buy a class asap? Almost every newcomer I've seen doesn't buy a class. Some even leave after dying once . Maybe tell them in the DruidAgreement.

The player agreement may work, though it's already a little full with the server rules. Does newly joining show the 'You have Stat Points to Spend!' message up top? For people who don't normally play RPG, that should be a clear enough message to them. Maybe we can change the color of the text in the stats menu for 'Class:' to make it standout?

This isn't much of an improvement. But, because there were so many 'buy' buttons (3), being more specific on 'Buy a Class' and 'Buy a Subclass' as shown in the screenshot I think helps. The 'Class' text is also highlighted in green, so you can tell new people to click on the buy class button next to the green text.

I think I may change the width of the 'Sell' button to align with the other buttons as well. The empty space to the right that was once the smaller 'Buy' buttons can maybe be used for things like 'Press F12 for FAQ's,' or a link to the server forum.

I actually like the bio rifle. The only issues I have with it is healing. Trying to self heal with it get pretty annoying. If you slow down the firing speed of it, it would be too hard to hit monsters with in my opinion. Maybe remove all self damage... that would be nice.

EDIT: I think the whole point of the weapon is to use it to cover the floor to make sort of a barrier. It's just so hard to use it like that.

Bio-Rifle:
I found the only effect way to use it is to either A) Your a Medic and you just alt-fire everything or B) shoot at the monsters' feet and use target leading. Eventually the goo will kill the target off because it can't dodge anywhere. I don't use it for air monsters.

Force 5 bio was pretty good actually.

I'm gonna see if it's any good on a Heavy Infantry weapon master.

Buy Class Button:
Awesome Hollogom.

EDIT: When I played Heavy Infantry with the bio, I gave up. Mini is so much better

Well, after years of using the bio rifle.

It's a diverse weapon that has its drawbacks, as any weapon should. However, there are two major drawbacks - self damage, and lack of ranged ability. I personally believe that having these two together make the bio rifle a pass for many people.

Playing as a medic alleviates one of the problems, turning the con of self damage into a pro. This makes the medic (or healing) bio rifle more welcoming in general. However, there are many better options when it comes to non healing weaponry.

One possibility would be to remove self damage on non-healing bio rifles. I'm not in favor of this change, actually, and think my second suggestion may be more fun.

The bio rifle is terrible. Well, more specifically, it's a terrible weapon for precision. The alternate fire is pretty bland; You hold it in and use it when you see an enemy, and it allows slightly higher DPS. whoopee.

In order to make the weapon more interesting, I think the alternate fire could be changed to help fight against flying creatures, especially gas bags. I'd like to see what the alternate fire would be like if the projectile's velocity was sped up a tad, and gravity removed. Fire rate and charge rate kept same, perhaps. Certain flying things move around so hectically right now, that you can't possibly lead them with the rifle, and you're stuck spraying around and hoping they randomly fly into your stream. I think a change like this would help make the bio rifle more versatile, while still keeping its original, area control style.

I wanna see a bio rifle where it shoots living goops that travel to nearby enemies. Then people would start using the bio more I think XD.

Yeah, self damage throws people off. But even then, ground monsters are extremely good at dodging the bio.

I don't think alt-fire should change because weapons should still have drawbacks against flying/ground monsters. You'd have to change your weapon to kill that one flying dude, then go back to bio.

That's called a Mine Layer.

I don't think anyone would mind if I just took the bio out and replaced it with the ML. I usually avoid the bio if there is a ML available. Also, currently I've got the grenade launcher set to change to ML layer. So if I do that, 3 weapons will be switched to the ML. So the question is, should I maybe re-introduce the grenade launcher, or maybe modify it instead and put it on the bio/mine layer key?

I like the firemodes to be similar if there are two or more weapons on the same key (like the lightning gun, mercury launcher and classic sniper.) But once you have three weapons on the same key it gets more difficult to select the one you want, and for some weapons you really only want one. That's also why I took the grenade launcher and switched the Mercury from the rocket slot to the sniper slot. The frequently used weapons, flak, mini, link and rl only have one possible weapon on those slots (keys.)

Maybe do a poll on whether it should be switched out.

Yea I do a lot of switching right now. It's not terrible. I was playing last night, and I tried to kill a nali with my bio rifle... no go. The nali danced around the radius of the goop, and any time I aimed up, so it would go farther, it would dash extremely fast backward, so nothing would hit it. it was like it had bullet-time for my goop. It was pretty broken. Maybe the dodge capabilities should actually be looked at.

I second this.

Ah, and looking at the stat menu Hollon posted, there's a minor issue. The stat text is sometimes too long. Sometimes you can't see what level you are. Also, some of the abilities don't let on what they really do and/or don't show cost.
