I wanna see a bio rifle where it shoots living goops that travel to nearby enemies. Then people would start using the bio more I think XD.

That's called a Mine Layer.

I don't think anyone would mind if I just took the bio out and replaced it with the ML. I usually avoid the bio if there is a ML available. Also, currently I've got the grenade launcher set to change to ML layer. So if I do that, 3 weapons will be switched to the ML. So the question is, should I maybe re-introduce the grenade launcher, or maybe modify it instead and put it on the bio/mine layer key?

I do prefer the grenade launcher over the bio rifle. Honestly though, whatever changes, if any, are made to the bio, I'll continue to use the weapons I always use.

Maybe the dodge capabilities should actually be looked at.

I second this.

Nalis play most like humans- they're very dodgy. It just requires to use a different weapon for better tactics. The bio is better suited against bigger and slower monsters like brutes.

Ah, and looking at the stat menu Hollon posted, there's a minor issue. The stat text is sometimes too long. Sometimes you can't see what level you are. Also, some of the abilities don't let on what they really do and/or don't show cost.

Yeah, I've noticed that, and it can be annoying not being able to see the level or cost of abilities. I can maybe stretch the ability menu a little longer, but I don't want to mess too much with the Stat menu. For longer names like 'Construction Health Bonus,' we can maybe shorten it to show at least what level of the ability you have. From there, you can check the cost of the next level by checking the info out. I'll go through the list to make sure the costs are included in the info (and make the cost at each level more readable).

Yeah, I guess you're right. Dodgy monsters require a different setup.

But still, the bio is rarely used. Could it be that there are too many dodgy monsters? DPS too low on larger monsters? What?

But then, there are other weapons that are rarely used . . .

EDIT: Can't reset server difficulty after we played Virus. It's stuck on masterful.

I think what I'll do next update is make a grenade launcher that uses the bio rifle key, I think it will be less annoying on that key instead of the flak key. That new grenade launcher will replace bio on maps, and the mine layer will continue to replace 'actual' grenade launcher spawns. Damage and fire rate is probably fine on it already, so I don't think it will need any actual changes.

The bio should be replaceable by a skill.

EDIT: Didn't actually read what Jefe said. Ill be sad if the Bio Rifle is replaced..

I could keep the bio on for WMs, but then we'd run into the same problem as with the AGGL: there were 3 weapons on the bio key, and only 1 that most people used.

The only problem with a "loaded bio" skill (as we have with starting weapon slots) is that all classes get to choose one or the other as starting weapons. Most classes don't start out with a bio rifle.

So it comes down to do we want a "souped up" bio or a grenade launcher in that slot? Or something else? AGGL again? The main issue with the AGGL is the alt fire didn't work online - it was supposed to stop its projectiles in mid-air, but I never got that to work.

Let's remember the "KISS" principle. The more we add/modify, the more problems we can have and will have.

I would much prefer Jefe and Hollon to spend their limited amount of time addressing and fixing current problems and issues that we have before moving on to other "requested" modifications that players want.

We are still in the process of merging data from both servers and Jefe and Hollon's efforts are showing fruit even after only 4 months. We need to get the server as stable as we can before any more major modifications.
In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed. They produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Soup that bio up!

Things that you could do:
-Increased time before exploding when on ground. (Used like mines)
-Decreased time before exploding when on the ground. (Used like extra fast splash damage).
-No self damage taken.
-Faster alt-fire charge time.
-Increased damage and half speed, or vica versa.
-Increased projectile travel speed. (Lets you see what you're shooting at a little more so you don't have to arc the shots)
-Shoot multiple shots at a time at different angles.
-Lower the gravity of projectiles. (Lets you see what you're shooting at a little more so you don't have to arc the shots)
-Projectiles split into two when landing on the ground. (Helps get rid of dodgy monsters)
-Delete the bio and put in a black hole cannon.
