Please make a separate post for each map you would like to nominate. Include screenshots and a public download link that does not require registration (Levels 4 You is the exception.) Screens viewable on the download site are ok, but not screens inside the zip file. Upload those to imageshack or take your own shots.
Please test play any map you nominate. Open the console and type the commaned "loaded" to get a translocator while testing. Test to see if you can translocate outside the map, under terrain, into small openings, etc. Also test with vehicles. Grab these mutators that will allow you use vehicles in DM etc. I'd recommend testing out one flying vehicle and one ground vehicle. See if you can pass through static meshes like cliffs, floors and other objects or if you get stuck on a lot of meshes. You can use the carlauncher mutator to spawn vehicles, or these console commands: GOD (so you don't get killed by the summoned vehicle) Raptor: Summon Onslaught.OnsAttackCraft Manta: Summon Onslaught.OnsHoverBike Hellbender: Summon Onslaught.ONSPRV Scorpion: Summon Onslaught.ONRV Here are some guidelines as to what will and will not be accepted on the server: Good: *Professional-looking DM, BR, DOM, CTF, ONS, VCTF maps *Maps that have been play-tested and are publicly available *Maps with normal music in a separate ogg file, or use an existing UT2004 music track *Maps with kill zones under the map so you die if you fall off or get under terrain. *Maps with blocking volumes so that you can't get outside of the map or behind objects. *Maps with a full range of weapons, ammo and pickups spread throughout the level. *Maps with full bot pathing. Bad: *Maps where it is easy to hide under the terrain (DM-Flux2,DM-Albatross), behind/inside/under static meshes, or outside, under or on top of the map. Easily glitched in other words. *Really small 1-on-1 or similar sized maps (DM-TrainingDay, DM-1on1-Serpentine, CTF-1on1-Joust) *Huuuuuuge ONS or VCTF maps (ONS-RedPlanet, ONS-Alien2) *Simple box maps, 1 room maps, or extremely noobish maps *Ugly maps *Clan maps with huge gaudy logos everywhere *Maps containing pornographic, vulgar or hateful images or sounds. Includes secret rooms that you can access in normal gameplay that contain such things (DM-FST-Sacrifice][) Tasteful statues or artwork are ok. *Maps with large static meshes that vehicles can drive or fall through *Maps with few or no weapons, ammo or pickups (Includes a lot of instagib maps) *Maps with no bot pathing or extremely poor pathing. (This affects monsters spawning.) *Maps with performance/lag/construction issues (Low FPS, No optimization from zone portals/antiportals,HOMs,too many emitters) *Maps with tons of external packages (several utx, uax, usx, ukx, etc. files) *Maps with any external package named "myLevel" (Incompatible with server) *Maps designed for eXtREEM!1! invasion (Death Warrant-style maps) *Maps with bases/hiding spots where monsters cannot spawn *Maps with bases full of deemers, weapon lockers, adren, etc. *Maps with embedded wav music (Annoying! and increases dl time considerably) Exceptions are where the music comes from a source like a radio or night club and can only be heard on part of the map. *Bad lighting and no light sourcing (Lights should appear to come from light fixtures, windows, sun, glowing objects, etc.) No pitch black rooms. I'm willing to edit a few maps to fit within the guidelines, especially if only minor changes need to be made. I will also accept edited maps, as long as those edits are made primarily to fix issues and not to make it the ultimate INV level. Please rebuild bot paths and rebuild lighting using RGBA lighting mode before submitting.
