They are really annoying and are causing problems.
I was just on and was up to wave 15 going for the win and a bot dies, server falls over and off to a new map we go. Also, sometimes when a bot ultima's or something it detroys my sents and turrets. Used to do it on the old server ALL the time, but has only happened once thus far on this server. Edit: Was on the Pac Man Map ![]()

I haven't noticed bot deaths triggering crashes before. And yeah, that ultima thing used to happen a lot, but it has been fixed.

Well it just happened again on flux. Bot dies server crash and off to a new map, without me. The number of bots is getting ridiculous with up to 5 of them, that leave and come back or exchange for other bots. There was a new player on, but he will probably not come back. ![]() ![]() Have a couple screenies, when the server f' up and goes to a new map I get left behind to run around watching people run into walls constantly, my link stays connected to whatever even if I don't press it to and run to the opposite side of the map. ![]()

Invasion monster counts are based on the number of players and is designed for a minimum of four. This is one reason we have bots. I know they can be annoying, but the game plays better with them. I've turned them off before and the result is the game being very difficult with just one player on.
It's possible sometimes they cause crashes, but I still haven't seen it.... they die all the time and the server usually stays up, so it might just coincide with something else happening. RPG invasion is a complex interaction between a lot of different mods. It's difficult to track down the precise causes of sever crashes and it's not always going to be the same thing. I understand it's frustrating for players, but solving them is also very difficult and extremely time consuming.

Good news, I discovered one major source of crashing. Some of the bots (Jakob, Riker and Sapphire) didn't have vehicle eject. If you've been forcing them into turrets, they crashed the server when they died because they didn't have the skill.

makes sense! thanks for finding that for us. i RARELY get a server crash from a bot dying, but it does happen. i've even had it when they're not in a turret. although it is very, very rare. next time i see it happen ill PM you details.

Server just crashed due to bots, me and and another player were on and the server bots left then 1 came back and server crashed.
Nothing out of the ordinary going on, as soon as the bot appeared in the F1 menu the server crashed. TutorialClassic map, i think it was, anyway just letting you know if there is a server log file to look up to see what caused it. ![]() |
