Maps the server falls over on

I have decided to make a list of any map hence forth that for no apparent reason the server decides it doesn't want to play all the way through and go to a new map before I or everyone else is dead.

Eroeh - got to wave 7 and server just decided to go to a new map...
Tangent - Got to wave six, bot died and server crashed... lost connection.
Andok - map just started and wave one connection lost, server in the server browser is ? for ping

WGS Dragon Spire - Server just went ? on wave 11, server crash i presume.
Flux-R - server fell over wave 10, right after a bot was glooped by red/blue skarj, off to another map (2nd time this has happened on this map)
PICCHU - wave 16 for no apparent reason server cutout, lost connection server ping N/A
CTF TAJ MAHAL - crashed during wave 16, lost connection with server as server went N/A and off to another map, right after I ghosted and the bot annika died.
Mourning2k4 - voted it, up it came and then the server demanded something else be voted... dunno what to make of that.
MistyGlen-LE - Server crashed right after sapphire bot blew up in energy turret.
Arid-V4 server became ? for no apparent reason on wave 10.
G-lined - This map wasn't particularly good as I could not summon any kind of a turret in any spot I considered good to base, made a vehicle outside and drove it in, put blocks back up and my game crashed.

These problems may not be the map, Treloar, but something else. I crashed on Pine Ridge, for example, and after looking at the UT2004.log, it seemed the problem came from the mercenary and something to do with its bullets. I suggest that after you crash, you check the UT2004.log right away and pick out any "warning" or "error" signs. These will be more precise about what the issue is.

Interesting. The only time a map crashes on me is when I die playing my engineer, general, or medic classes

when a player enters and the server kicks the bot out. happened to me plenty of times. i always wondered if there was a way to make the bot become a spectator and then kick the bot if it wouldn't do it.

This time and many other times like this my game didn't crash.

The server just goes to a new map and leaves me behind on the old map, I have to disconnect and click on the server in the server-browser to connect to the server again on the new map.

Also I'd like it if you could make it so the bots cannot use ultima, the bots ultima is still destroying my turret and sents.

Treolar, When you're "left behind" and the server goes to a new map, that's because the server itself crashed, not that it restarted randomly. The crashes are fairly random though, and can happen on any map. A few maps will always trigger a server crash after the map is over though. (A different map than the one that was voted for will load.) That can be a bit annoying, but it's not a huge issue. The server crashing during the middle of a game is much worse because you lose some xp, but there's nothing to my knowledge I can do about it.

A server crash, as described above, is quite different from a client-side crash, in other words, a player crash. The crashing that you see when an engineer or medic dies, that's client-side because the server stays up.

Hollon, while you might see errors about weapons and fire modes etc. keep in mind that not all game crashing errors will be logged. A certain amount of spam is normal in the log file.

Cancer, I haven't noticed crashing being caused by bots leaving the server, but just about anything is possible. Are you referring to server or client crashes? If you're being killed by their ultima blast, and then crashing, that's probably just the "normal" engi/med crash. As for ultima, I removed the skill from most of the invasion bots a long time ago, but due to config changes and leveling up a few have the skill again. I'll remove the skill from them soon (just the invasion bots, not the DM bots though.)

In any case, I just decided when there is a problem I was going to just post it up in this thread (just in case it's not something random that could be diagnosed).

I was going to list the map and the events, if any, surrounding the issue.

Is this OK?
