Hello, everyone! I have strange problem with my lawn. I planted grass in the spring, and everything seemed to be going well, but now that it's gotten hot, it's started to turn yellow. I water it regularly and add fertilizer. The soil seems normal, and it's on sunny side. Maybe I chose the wrong type of seeds? Or is my watering method wrong? I want the grass to stay thick and green, especially in the summer. Can you advise me on which varieties are more heat-resistant and don't require constant care? I don't want to spend the whole summer just looking after my lawn. |

Hello! Most likely, it's matter of the type of grass. Some species simply cannot tolerate strong sun. I advise you to read https://growcycle.com/learn/landscaping/commercial-and-public-landscapes/the-complete-guide-to-bermuda-grass-seed-tips-for-a-hardy-low-maintenance-lawn, everything is clearly explained there. Bermuda grass is great for hot regions. It is drought-resistant, grows quickly and does not require constant watering. The main thing is to properly prepare the soil and mow regularly. In couple of weeks you will see the result.

I agree, Bermuda grass is a super option. I also planted it last summer and survived the heat without any problems. The main thing is not to overwater and not to cut too low.
