Guys, how do you determine which geo-tiers are more profitable to work with—Tier 1, 2, or 3? I often see newbies jumping into Tier 1 for "quality traffic," but then complain about expensive clicks and poor ROI.

I recently encountered a situation: I launched a campaign exclusively in high-paying Tier 1 geographies. I thought, "That's it, you'll be successful!" But my budget was burning through faster than I could figure out what was going wrong. I found this article about the differences between Tier 1, 2, and 3 countries in affiliate marketing very helpful. It explains everything clearly and provides accessible examples. It explains why Tier 2 and even Tier 3 can be much more profitable for starting out and scaling. After reading this, I decided to go now and study the material in more depth—and I realized that it's important not just to "choose Tier 1," but to carefully balance budget, competition, and localization.

It really comes down to the balance between cost and conversion.

Tier 1 can bring higher payouts, but the traffic is expensive and very competitive, so it’s easy to burn budget fast. Tier 2 is often a middle ground — decent costs with still good conversion potential.

Tier 3 is cheaper and easier to test, especially for beginners, but you need to watch traffic quality and payment reliability.

In most cases, it’s better to test offers in lower tiers first, optimize, and only then scale to Tier 1 once you understand what actually converts.
