OEM license transferring question

My laptop came with an OEM version of Windows, and I’m planning to build a new desktop soon. I know OEM keys are supposed to stay with the original machine, but is there any official way to move it? I’ve heard mixed things about contacting Microsoft support for exceptions. Is it worth trying, or should I just buy a new key?

I’ve been exploring how kms activator windows 10 works as a concept for managing system activation, and it’s interesting how it demonstrates the connection between licenses and hardware. When you build a new PC, this process really helps you understand why OEM keys stay tied to the original device. Instead of thinking about transferring that key, learning how activation communication happens makes future setups smoother and less confusing. It’s more about understanding the mechanism than just entering a code.
