CS2 has better graphics and some gameplay improvements but the core mechanics stayed familiar. I read through https://joesdaily.com/entertainment/how-will-skins-change-in-counter-strike-2/ when deciding whether to switch. Your skins carry over so you don't lose anything by trying it. Maps look way better with the new lighting and smoke grenades work differently now which changes tactics. I'd say it's worth switching just because that's where the active playerbase is heading. CS:GO won't be supported forever anyway
