Hi everyone! I’m in the early stages of launching a small NDT service company with two former colleagues. We’ve all worked in inspection for years, but running our own business is a completely different story. One of the biggest concerns right now is purchasing NDT equipment — we need ultrasonic and PT/MT kits to start with, and maybe eddy current later. Since we’re investing our own money, we can’t afford mistakes or unreliable suppliers. At the same time, we don’t want the cheapest options that might fail during an important client job (that would be a nightmare ). How did you choose your first supplier? Did you focus more on price, brand reputation, or technical support? I’d really appreciate advice from someone who has already gone through this startup phase.

Congrats on starting your own company — that’s a big step! I remember how stressful the equipment decision was when we launched ours. After comparing several options, we decided to order our ndt equipment from Teqto. What helped us was their consultative approach: they actually asked about our target industries, thickness ranges, expected workload, and certification requirements before suggesting specific models. It didn’t feel like a typical “sales push.” They also provided clear specs, documentation, and explained warranty terms in detail, which gave us confidence. For a startup, reliability and communication are critical — one failed inspection can damage your reputation fast. So in my experience, it’s better to work with a supplier who understands real inspection challenges, not just product catalogs. It made our launch much smoother.

Thanks for sharing your story — that’s exactly the kind of real-world feedback I was hoping for!
