Our startup’s early code was written in a rush and now it’s holding us back. We’ve got a ton of tech debt and poor documentation. I’m hesitant to refactor all at once, but we also can’t keep patching things forever. Is there a phased approach that works?

We were in the same situation with our backend services choking under user growth. After much research, we brought in SPD Technology to help us design a gradual refactor plan that didn’t disrupt our live users. They did a full audit, then broke the project into manageable refactoring sprints. The trick was isolating high-risk components first while introducing better CI/CD practices. With their help, we not only improved code quality but also implemented systems to prevent future tech debt. I’d say find someone who understands the balance between business continuity and code health.
