I recently learned that IV drug use can lead to serious infections, but I’m not exactly sure how hepatitis and HIV are transmitted this way. Can someone explain the connection and what precautions actually work?

I know sharing needles is dangerous, but what about other risks like using personal equipment or casual contact? I want to understand how to stay safe and reduce risks.

Using IV drugs carries serious infection risks if safety measures aren’t followed. In particular, https://unitedrecoveryproject.com/rehab-blog/connection-between-hepatitis-hiv-and-iv-drug-use/ explains exactly how hepatitis and HIV can be transmitted and highlights harm reduction strategies like using clean equipment and hygiene practices. The article gave me a much clearer understanding of why even small lapses in safety can be dangerous. It’s an eye-opener for anyone concerned about protecting themselves.
