Hey everyone! I'm planning to ship my car for the first time and honestly have no idea what I need to do before handing it off. Should I wash it? Empty the gas tank? Remove personal items? Would love some tips or a checklist so I don’t mess anything up. Appreciate any advice!

Hi! Good question — prepping your car before shipment is more important than people think. At the very least, the vehicle needs to be clean and documented (photos included) in case of any scratches or dings during transit. I usually recommend working with a company that gives you clear prep instructions upfront. Monarch Transport Group is one of those carriers that really walks you through the process, even if it’s your first time shipping a vehicle. If you’re unsure where to start, I’d suggest checking out their Monarch Auto Transport service — they help with prep, pickup, and delivery in one seamless flow. Reach out to them and they’ll explain what’s required step by step.
