Alltalk settings (sv_alltalk, sv_fullalltalk, and sv_deadtalk) are DISABLED on Fort Penguin CSGO servers.
You may ask (as some have in-game), "Why isn't alltalk enabled? This is a casual server." First of all, here's WHY we have alltalk disabled: Our servers are there for people who actually want to PLAY the game - including working with your teammates to try to WIN. How are teammates supposed to coordinate offensive and defensive strategies with each other if everything you say on the mic will be heard by the other team? You can't. Now, let's address the MYTH that all casual servers are supposed to have alltalk enabled: There is no requirement that casual servers have alltalk enabled -- there is nothing about alltalk listed in the classic casual game mode description - even in the quick play / matchmaking lobby menus. If Valve expected alltalk to always be enabled on casual servers, they wouldn't have left the CVAR's in the game to disable it. Valve's official classic casual servers might run with alltalk enabled, and other community dedicated servers might too -- but that doesn't mean WE have to. "If you don't like alltalk on, you should run your servers in competitive mode" Umm, no thanks. We're not interested in dealing with any of the shenanigans going on with competitive matchmaking, and we're a lot more of a public gaming group than a competitive gaming clan. The Bottom Line It's called "freedom of choice", folks. We are free to run the servers how we want to run them. Freedom of choice works for players too. There are thousands of servers to choose from out there. If you don't like the way we run ours, don't hate -- just "relocate". ![]()
