BF2 v1.50 Patch release 9.1.09 Finally ... after nearly a year of development and three public beta tests Battlefield 2 v1.50 is ready for release! The update will be released on Tuesday 1st September at 5pm UK, 6pm Europe. As part of Update 1.50 we are glad to announce that not only is Highway Tampa now a required install included in the update but Euro Forces (Great Wall, Taraba Quarry and Operation Smoke Screen) and Armored Fury (Midnight Sun, Operation Harvest and Operation Road Rage) is now FREE for all Battlefield 2 players. Including the brand new map, Operation Blue Pearl this brings EIGHT new maps that everyone can play and will be added to ranked Battlefield 2 servers world wide. The Booster Pack content is included in the update and has made the file just over 2Gb in size. Server providers around the world will have access to the client file so find your closest host for best download speeds. To install Battlefield 2 Update v1.50 you must have Battlefield 2 updated to version 1.41 or Battlefield 2 Complete Collection from EA Store installed. Thank you to all of the EAUK Forums (http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-2/) members who have given feedback and requests during the development of this update. The full change log for Update 1.50 is as follows: Features: * Additional support for Windows Vista * Added Highway Tampa as a required map * Added a new map called Operation Blue Pearl * Added Euro Force and Armored Fury as free to play content for all Battlefield 2 players * Added Widescreen support * Allowed BF2.exe to use more than 2Gb RAM * Added support for the Novint Falcon controller (http://www.novint.com) Gameplay Tweaks: * Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced * AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective * Added checks to prevent "runway grieving" * Various changes made to prevent cheating * Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model * Fixed Occasional connection drops after being on a server a couple of minutes * Prevented use of mouse wheel to provide speed boost to vehicles * Prevented use of mouse wheel to exploit parachutes * Players can now pass claymores by going prone * Update the HUD on TV Guided missiles to increase visibility on maps like Dragon Valley * Added Battlefield 2142 style prone deviation (going prone will now cause reduced accuracy for a brief period) Bug Fixes: * Fixed the issue where picking up a players kit would cause CTD * Updated BF2OpenAL.dll from version 1.1.1.0 to version 2.1.8.1 * Updated ch_gas_station collision mesh on Dragon Valley to be consistent with other gas station buildings * Fixed the issue where MEC artillery piece on Operation Clean Sweep changes to the USMC's control when they capture the Airfield flag * Updated the Challenger2 HUD to show the correct icon instead of the M1A2 HUD icon * Changed a PLA FAV to MEC FAV on Road to Jalalabad * Tweaked the artillery respawn time on Dragon Valley for to 360 seconds as other artillery uses * Included a delay after weapon switch for the Bizon (PP-19) to 0.666 * Updated the F35B's lock delay to 1 second instead of 1.5 seconds to match other aircraft * Changed the Humvee camo on Taraba Quarry to be the correct design * Increased the splash damage of the UH-60 (Black Hawk) guns from 0.25 to 1.5 * Updated the G36E HUD to react the same as other weapons during sprint Stay tuned for release announcement in the near future! THE MALICIOUS MAFIA FAMILY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY HAPPY 2-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVERYONE! We are HAPPY and PROUD to announce the Malicious Mafia Family 2-year anniversary. Wow time has gone by so fast. Hard to believe it has been 2-Years already. We have been through a lot. People have come and gone, but we will continue to grow and expand. We have learned a lot and are starting to change some things with the family. We have big plans for Malicious Mafia and need loyal members to help us achieve our goals. In order to make this the Ultimate Gaming Family we will re-work some things. We have asked for input and greatly appreciate everyone’s ideas and feedback. We have meet many people over the last 2 years and have gotten to know many of them very well. We feel many are friends of the online world. We started the next chapter by changing our Slogan and have released our “No Way Out” clause. We don’t want to lose touch will all the good people we have meet over time. We will be an open community for anyone who wishes to join the fun. We will however not tolerate any BS. We want to have fun with people who enjoy gaming in a fair manner. We have decided to clear our ban lists as well. 14 bans were not released because of cheating; everyone else has a second chance. We did save the list and if anyone is put back on the ban list they WILL never be removed again. To help with the new recruits we have decide to add Recruitment Bosses. This will allow Dub & I time to do other things to help better and further the family. The Commissione will vote in all New Recruits. The Commissione will decide what is best for the family so the age limit is being removed as well. I have started changing some things. I have already changed the welcome message and slogan. There is still a lot that needs to be finalized so please bear with us. Everything should be updated within a week or so. Please keep checking the Web site for new info. Dub and I thought it would be cool to get some T-shirts so I took our homepage picture and had some T-shirts made up. We will be giving a few away for some contests and try selling the rest to raise funds for the family. If you have any ideas for a good fun contest let us know. The shirts are mainly to help the Family raise funds for the servers, Web site and to reinvest back into more Mafia Wear. All $50 donations will get a shirt (sizes are limited), email address (“YourName@MaliciousMafia.com”), will be considered for admin rights on all servers, and the Commissione. Your name will scroll on all our BF2 server messages as well. I will create a quick link in the next day or so to get your shirt. In the mean time you can use our regular donate button to send your $50 donation to get your shirt sooner. Sizes are limited so first come first pick. We have S, M, L, 1XL, 2XL, 3XL. I will post a picture of the shirt soon. If you are available please join us for a game or two to celebrate with us this weekend. Come on Ventrilo and hang out for a few. Hit us up on Xfire to give a quick shout out. We are also hosting a Texas Hold’Em tourney on my Birthday August 5th on PokerStars.com at 6 PM Est. Everyone is welcome to play. All the info is in the Mafia News. The winner of the tourney will win the money from the tourney plus I will pay him/her $25 and send them a T-shirt for taking first place and beating me. We wouldn't be here today if it weren’t for Joe and his kindness. I have dealt with 6 companies over the last 2-years to run our servers and Web site. Things didn't go so good. Our first Web site went down last September and Joe basically stopped everything he was doing to get me a Web site back online. I learned one lesson, NEVER use a free service to host a Web site. If something happens to the site and it goes down you have no rights to the data or info that was on the site. It belongs to the site owner. I went to Joe looking for info and found much much more. Joe owns and operates Tellup Web Services. He now hosts our Web site and 4 BF2 games servers. Tellup Web Services is by far the best. Contact Tellup Web Services for all you clan needs.
