I’m trying to start working as a rideshare driver in New York City, but the insurance part is turning out to be much more complicated than I expected. My current auto policy is just a standard personal one, and when I asked my insurance company about using the car for passenger rides, they said it might not meet the city’s requirements. Now I’m worried that if I submit the wrong documents, my application could be rejected. Has anyone dealt with this situation before and figured out where to get the right type of insurance for driving passengers in NYC?

Starting as a rideshare driver in New York City felt intimidating because the insurance rules here are so different from other states. My personal auto policy clearly didn’t cover passengers, and I worried about delays in registration. While searching for a solution, I came across a detailed guide on TLC insurance NYC at https://www.ayroyal.com/tlc-insurance/ . It explained which coverage types are required, how to gather documents for the TLC, and practical tips for drivers like me. Thanks to this resource, I felt prepared and confident to get the right policy before submitting my application.
