The Syndicate
01. Introduction:
The Syndicate is a coalition of powerful individuals known only as the Enclave, joined together to make an organization that has legitimate companies although as a mere front their primary power lies in their criminal underworld.
The Syndicate produces nearly anything someone could want, from blasters to droids, space fighter components to fully-fledged battleships, the list goes on and on. Unknown to the Empire or Galactic Alliance they look to keep the galaxy stable and if that means bringing them both down they will do so, as the Syndicate looks after its own. This means they need to have a military arm to combat anyone or thing that might wish to bring harm to the Syndicate or its members, and so they have an extensive military unknown to the re

st of the galaxy working in secret leaving no survivors to tell the tale of whom destroyed their forces. If the powers of the galaxy found out who was behind many of their misfortunes they would risk open war with the Syndicate, and although their military is powerful they are not ready for open war against all the powers in the galaxy.
The Syndicate has engaged fleets from many powers in the galaxy from the Sith-Empire to the Hutt cartels, and has always come out victorious, mostly due to the advanced technology that they have acquired through various means, they field fleets of varied ships from Pellaeon class star destroyers, Scythe class Mon Calamari cruisers, Mandalorian battleships and a few very special breeds of their own making incorporating aspects from many ship designs, these ships tend to form secret fleets able to strike out against their enemies allowing them to go unknown to point blank range and destroy their opponents with lost weapons technology such as metal-crystal phase shifters (a weapon designed for the Maw Irregular Fleet, able to fire through shielding, causing hull damage hitting their targeted location and making the hull turn to dust, although not singularly causing massive damage, the combined shots cause cracks in the hull and eventually that the hull collapses in on itself), other vessels are equipped with super lasers such as those found on the death star and Eclipse class star destroyers. These allow the Syndicate to hit hard and decimate their targeted foe quickly and effectively.
When more subtle means are called for they will bring forth their armies, able to bring thousands of troops to the battlefield, or a special commando unit able to complete any task given to them by the Enclave, or perhaps a lone assassin to help convince a planetary governor to comply with a business deal with the Syndicate.
02. Branch Explanations:
The Syndicate is constructed of three branches, all ranks are derived from one branch that of the Military, so even though someone may be in the Corruption and Surveillance branch they will keep a Military rank and be identified by an Icon that is specific to the branch and so only the members of the Syndicate will be able to identify what specialty this person is suited for.
Military:
The Military branch of the Syndicate is vast, ranging from pilots and ground troops to admirals and generals of the Syndicates forces, not to mention the Special Operations teams that the Syndicate has at its disposal. Those Special Ops teams are referred to as Spectres these are warriors that answer to the Enclave directly, given missions to complete and will do so at any cost, they are advanced warriors with all manner of technology at their disposal, utilizing light sabers, blasters, heavy weapons using anything required to get the job done. Also falling under their duties is being the Guards of the Enclave, and it is considered a high honour to be assigned to any member of the Enclave and protect them with their lives if necessary. If a Spectre has been assigned to an Enclave member they will be the best of the best fighters in their unit, typically they will be raised from a Spectre to a Wraith, these warriors are guides and leaders of Spectre teams, given assignments by the Enclave and they are to carry out their will.
Military Ranks Order:
Enclave: The members of this rank are the ruling force of the Syndicate.
General: This rank is quite self explanatory, they are the high ranking military commanders when an army is required to be put on the field, they understand all aspects of battle and will perform their duties with precise action, skilled warriors themselves they can direct an assault or lead from the front to inspire the troops of the Syndicate.
Colonel: These warriors have worked for the Syndicate for decades, they know and understand the ways the Syndicate operates, if something is important enough to be obtained, destroyed or perhaps a deal made, the Enclave will send a Colonel.
Major: A Major is the typical commander for a branch military mission, having worked their way to this position of authority their skills in the section they work in are second to none and should be feared for many reasons.
Captain: Those holding a Captains rank are capable people proven to take care of “issues” of the Syndicate given squads of warriors to command or direct research labs but will always report to their Major on important issues.
Lieutenant: This is proven member inside the Syndicate, having proven themselves in combat repeatedly or in their chosen job able to defend themselves with the necessary skill to dispatch all but the most dangerous of enemies.
Warrant Officer: A fighter with a very good level of combat knowledge, leading Spec ops operatives and military squads on operations of importance.
Sergeant: These fighters are a mid rank Syndicate member, a fighter with skill and knowledge of how things run, the majority of the Syndicate is formed by these warriors making sure the Enclaves will is enforced.
Corporal: Corporals have made their way up a few ranks by showing they are capable in following orders and making sure their jobs assigned to them were successful now they just have to keep that standard to progress.
Lance Corporal: An Lc is a newly accepted member of the Syndicate having done some minor jobs and proven reliable and useful to the Syndicate.
Associate: An Associate is someone that has expressed an interest in joining the Syndicate for whatever reasons they may have, but must prove he or she is worthy of entrance into the Syndicate.

The Obsidian Guard are the special operations teams for the Syndicate, they will be given their orders from the Enclave only answering only to them, such orders could be that of an assassination, capturing an individual or location, performing stealth operations, or acting as a commando team for a full fledged army. Specializing in boarding actions and capturing new technology that has been found by the Surveillance branch.
Spectres: Special Tactics and Response
These are shadowy troopers of the Syndicate, capable of using many varied weapons trained to high standards they carry out the will of the Enclave and enforce the laws laid down by them. They answer to no one but the Enclave and so have a high level of independency using their skills to carry out whatever orders have been given from the highest echelon of the Syndicate.
Wraiths: Spectre unit Captains
The next step up from Spectres, Wraith are elite commando troops, leading the Spectres in their missions, specializing in ship to ship boarding actions, urban combat, tactical operations of any kind requiring force to be completed, these troops have the best equipment money can buy and some that it can’t, if the Enclave want to take something with force and want the galaxy to know who did it Wraiths would be the ones sent to do it.
Surveillance Branch:
The Surveillance branch also has its own Special Operation members, typically though they will work alone, in secret as they must find the secrets of others and bring them to the Enclave. As with the Military the Surveillance Operatives have the best technology that credits can buy and some that it can’t. The Syndicate will acquire Technology and information through its Operatives be they legitimate or illegal means, gaining information from the Empire, Galactic Alliance, Kuat shipyards even the Mandalorians.
Shades:
Initiates in covert operations these are part of the Corruption and Surveillance branch initiates into specializing in gathering sensitive information for the Enclave’s use, when they prove themselves by gathering the best information and completing the missions handed out to them they perhaps will move up in rank, gaining more difficult missions to finish but with it they gain better tech and privileges for doing so.
Shadows:
The fully fledged covert intelligence gathering operatives, given cloaking tech and the best equipment needed to get into fortified or secure facilities and get out again without detection these are the best operatives able to do so in the Syndicate, gathering vital information on bases, enemy troop movements, starship construction and locations of fleets or individuals that have been brought to the attention of the Enclave.
Research Branch:
The final branch is that of the Research branch, they will acquire technology and the information gathered by the Surveillance branch and put it to practical use, creating the starships and weapons making their own improvements or adjusting the designs to suit the Syndicates needs, for instance the recent development of a new class of star destroyer that of the Imperious class was found by a Syndicate Shadow Operative, and the Syndicate has made use of this design however adding far stronger shielding and advanced weaponry tech. The Syndicates technology comprises that of history’s greatest lost and the most advanced new technology in use, giving them an advantage beyond any other power.
Training Branch:
There is also a new sub branch, that of trainers, given this job because they have proven able to train the new recruits in combat forms and arts more advanced than what they may currently know, making the Syndicates army a deadly force armed or not.
03. Clan Promotion System:
All promotions will now be of a Trial base. Knowledge and understanding of saber combat and practical use will be required to rise in ranks, instead of the Enclave voting who is ready to be promoted.
The member will be responsible for Applying for their Promotion Trial, depending on the rank being applied for will depend on what requirements are to be met for said promotion. For example some ranks will require knowledge-based questions to be answered, skills put to use, and possibly a RP based mission to complete. It is not all about skill so don’t worry if you’re not that skilled you can still gain ranks if you provide enough performance in other criteria.
So now it’s down to the members of the Syndicate to initiate when they feel they are ready to be promoted or just want to try for their trials. If your happy to stay a particular rank you can do so, or if you would like to raise up in rank then it’s down to you.
