![]() Basic Information 88th is a new Axis Rifle squad in the making. Right now only me and a friend are part of it but we are accepting new members. There aren't really any requirements as long as you are a decent player that is willing to play as a team when needed. We will check your statistics on the player stats list of Dirk's Server to check some things. As mentioned above we're mainly a rifle squad, which means that the Mauser k98 is our preferred weapon (both standard as scoped), but we'll occasionally use other weapons too depending on the combat situation. We'll play axis as much as we can but in case of unbalanced teams we will switch teams. Current Members: [88th]J.Belgier [88th]Manfred [88th]Callum (joining in soon) [88th]TeRRor Matches: [88th] versus <R> - 29 - 50 What is a Jäger Division? Wikipedia: The main purpose of the German Jäger Divisions was to fight in adverse terrain where smaller, coordinated units were more combat effective than the brute force offered by the standard infantry divisions. The Jäger divisions were more heavily equipped than mountain divisions, but not as well armed as a regular infantry division. In the early stages of the war, they were the interface divisions fighting in rough terrain and foothills as well as urban areas between the mountains and the plains. The Jägers – which means hunters in German – relied on a high degree of training and somewhat superior communications, as well as their not inconsiderable artillery support. In the middle stages of the war, as the standard infantry divisions were downsized, the Jäger model with two infantry regiments, came to dominate the standard tables of organization. ![]() WE ARE STILL RECRUITING ddaydev forum topic: http://www.ddaydev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7750 |
