What Branding Advice Actually Worked for You?

Nice to meet everyone here. I've bookmarked dozens of branding articles over the last few weeks, although many of them repeat the same generic advice without showing practical ideas for smaller projects. Recently I found one that approached the subject from a budget-conscious perspective, which seemed much closer to reality for independent founders. Before I start making changes, I'm interested in hearing real experiences. Which branding adjustments gave you the biggest improvement without requiring months of work or professional design knowledge?

I usually ignore articles that promise instant success, but this one felt more balanced than most. While reading through it, I paused at the Pixella review and the explanations made several branding decisions easier to understand from a practical perspective. Rather than rebuilding everything, I introduced a consistent visual style across the project and removed elements that distracted from the main content. The improvements were subtle, although together they created a cleaner presentation that felt more cohesive and noticeably easier for visitors to follow.
