AoA Enters Into Battlefield: Bad Company 2!

All Out Assault is ready to lock and load for the newest Battlefield series: Bad Company 2. Be sure to register on the website, if you haven't already, and send in an application for the First Person Shooter Division here if you are interested in joining. Our recruiting status is currently open to all skilled and mature players who are willing to refrain from soiling themselves while on the battlefield. Also, be sure to join us in our own Hypernia public dedicated server located in Chicago, IL. We are streaming live PBBans and GameTracker stats. This server is brought to us by Arctic Knight Alliance and we are excited to be working in partnership with them.

About Us

All Out Assault started in September of 1996. We were a collection of 8 members who got together to play Quake 1 Death Match. We faired very well in the limited competition that we found to play against at that time. Not to long after that, around August of 1997 with the popularity of Quake World and Quakespy growing to unimaginable heights AoA truely started to see competative play, but not as a DM clan anymore, we had moved into QWTF (Quake World Team Fortress.... Yes, this was before Team Fortress Classic). Most of the old school members that you will see around here are from that game, and so a lot of them are celebrating their 12 year aniversary with the clan this year.

After a great run in QWTF, the cheating and exploits became too widespread and we, and most others, took our leav [show more] e of the game. Our next game was Command and Conquer Renegade which we did extremely well in, always ranked, and correct me someone if I am wrong, but we were always ranked within the top 3 clans.

From there we went into Earth and Beyond where we once again had amazing success. We were ranked number one in almost every major clan category and had an amazing player base. You will see a lot of our EnB players around now.

Next we went into a flurry of FPS games, such as Unreal Tournament 2003, and BF 1942 Desert Combat Mod. Both of those games were met with very limited success. After such a long stint in MMO's we found it hard to get back to the strict lifestyle of a FPS clan.

We moved on from there into two different directions at one time, with the time periods varying a little. One of those paths lead us into Star Wars Galaxies in which Overmind lead AoA to amazing success and brought forth the shining AoA fortification known as Echo Base.

At roughly the same time period AoA entered into World of Warcraft as well. WoW turned out to be a two fold adventure. We started off strong, probably about 60 or so members, and everything went well for a time. Then as the really hardcore grinders would reach 55 or 60 so much faster than everyone else, they would find themselves asking "now what" and a trend was started that eventually spelled the end of our involvement in WoW until recently. All Out Assault now has a division in WoW again, under the leadership of Divine (Serenity) which we believe will flourish with the several expansions and game adjustments that have occured since AoA's initial involvement.

This brings us up to LOTRO. Our involvement in LOTRO started in the closed BETA where a number of our members started feeling out the game for clan play. Overmind decided that this was a viable game for AoA to get involved in. Since the pre-order beta our "kinship" has grown by leaps and bounds and AoA is one of the top tier clans in LOTRO's Brandywine server, under the leadership of Ragter and Jerrick.

All Out Assault had several members that were interested in a change from the traditional elf and orc or sci-fi MMO genres, and we were lucky to have a number of members involved in beta for Pirates of the Burning Sea. Our involvement with POTBS has been a huge success, being one of the largest Pirate societies on the Blackbeard server. In addition to veteran members of AoA, our POTBS society has recruited many new players to AoA who are now part of the AoA community in several games. Our POTBS division is led by Moose Storme and Oleum (Old Nick).

Like many guilds, AoA was excited about Age of Conan. We had a large number of members that were ready to move into a new game and AoC offered an intriguing setting, novel combat system, and exceptional graphics. While we recognize some of the struggles that Funcom has had since launch, AoA remains very bullish on AoC. All Out Assault has an active division on Omm, with our tier 2 guild city complete and our eye on higher tier structures. Our division regularly groups and as more AoA'ers hit level 80, we are developing a raiding schedule. The AoC division is led by Dreamchant and Amatar.

...which leads us to the present moment. As I write this, AoA is developing its officer corps and recruiting from beta for our Warhammer Online division. We already have an active group of players in beta, with more who have pre-ordered anxiously awaiting open beta and release. AoA is ready to hit the ground running at release on September 18, 2008. Allomein is our division leader for WAR.

As you can see from our history, AoA is more than a guild in any specific game. AoA is a community of gamers that continue to play together from one game to the next. AoA encourages its members to be active in our forums and vent, as this is important for remaining coordinated when achieving in game objectives and also helps to build the community. We are known as tough competitors, but respected for being good sports by allies and "enemies" alike.
