THIS IS AN IMPOS REPORT:
I noticed when upgrading the Pershing's turret, that the second turrent, in stats; is virtually the same as the first turret. From the wiki: Tier/Name/Armor/Turn Speed/View Range/weight VII M26M71 114/76/76(mm) 41(d/s) 430(m) 8000 VIII M26M67 114/76/76(mm) 43(d/s) 450(m) 9700 It didn't make sense, because the second turret weighs so much more. Well apon further investigation, I had read a couple places about the advantages of the Pershing's second turret lying in the mantlet, but really didn't understand that. Today, I found the answers: Random__Person wrote: This is just one example of the depth of the game that they won't tell you about. Another example being - I compared the Pershing and Patton to the Russian comparable medium tanks. The Russian tanks, on paper; blow away the pershing and patton. They have thicker armor. They are faster. They have bigger guns. They have a smaller profile even... So, why would the game creators match these tanks up as being comparable? Well, the Pershing and Patton have a hidden stat that makes them very useful, in a unique way. They have far superior gun depression, which is a stat the game doesn't present to the player in the tank's statistics. Gun depression represents how far a tank can aim it's gun up and down. Which, if you've been engaged on a hill or some kind of height difference with a tank that can bearly look up and down, you know can be deadly. Combined, the Pershing's/Patton's excellent gun depression and it's above average acceleration /traverse speed, the Pershing can be a killer on unsteady grounds. ![]()
