well... I once lived in Spain and devout catholics, which are many in spain and poland etc. don't eat meat on fridays. Not sure if that matters to every friday or just a few. And staying away from meat is something that happens during the lent. So these habits have existed for a long time.

The best idea i can get: Bike Only Day. If you're in a weelchair or something you obciously can't. It would also be problematic for people who drive a long way early in the morning for work. How ever if you can ride a bike then you should. It is hard to object to that.

martin are you entirely inspired by the song and disasters?

hmmm. I'm not saying I'm going to drive my car, but I'm going to drive my car.

I'm curious as to why this is brought up, are you afraid of ozone deterioration, as far as car emissions go? because that isn't as big a deal as these environmentalist whack jobs make it out to be. as far as energy goes meh. there's many factories and people converting to solar energy & geo-thermal.

So I want to hear your reasons for this, as I said I'm curious. And I don't want to hear "to save the enviroment" nonono I would like a legitimate answer, if you can give me one.

Let the debate begin!

Maybe he is just caring about the climate changes going on? In Holland it is already very obvious. We had 4 seasons in the past, now we have 2: a rain season and a heavy rain season. Look at the news, didn't you notice that things are changing? More floods and the like... And what the reasons are? That can be debatable. At least for some people it leads to more awareness of the way they live. Not because they think they can make changes on their own, but they think we might be able to make a change as humanity together.
Maybe he wants to be aware of the environment he is part of? There are many more reasons to just care about nature, people and the world we share. Consuming in this world is made easy, we consume without thought. So it is not harmful to think a second on how we live I guess, for some it might lead to a change in lifestyle for whatever reasons, for others it won't.
I personally eat meat only every now and then, cause we had massive outbreaks of diseases for cows, pigs, chickens, goats. The way we produce meat was the cause of the outbreak of these diseases. And I was not agreeing to this. So I changed my lifestyle to consume less meat. It might also lead to less emission of CO2 and other gasses, but that is not my main concern. I think Martin is just making a call for awareness, and anyone can do what they like with it. I just give this little man a big +1. Wish I was that aware at his age.

Martin, I can tell you this, the earth wont die:). There are so many animals and trees, the earth can always make itself healthy again. Perhaps it will take the nature again millions of years, but the earth wont be destroyed:)
So the problems isnt that the earth will die, the problem is that the Human wont survive it. Animals, humans and trees wont survive it, only those micro things. And from those micro animals everything will start again like it did thousands of years ago.

So, dont be afraid for the earth, be afraid for yourself.
And btw, the climate is changing??
It has always changed and it will always change (Ice Age).
Yes, we are not doing good, but we are working to get our cars et cetera better.

I think we already do a lot of stuff, but maybe you should make a suggestion Martin, to do something special. In Holland we already separate glass, electronic devices, paper, plastic and metals from our waste, so that is not something we can do extra.

And btw smurfberry, the climate has been changing continuously, that's right, but not in this speed...
Your view would be a good idea to test the evolution theory. I am convinced it will fail miserably though, so I prefer to take my own responsibility.

Yes, not in this speed. And yes, ofcourse you need to take your own responsibility. But we are already trying to do that.

LOL don't turn this into a religious debate martin. you believe that earth was luck? okay buddy. I believe that there is a God and that this plant was created by God. the fact that we're the only inhabited planet in this universe? maybe. but this universe is only part of a greater space. made up of millions of millions of other universes. don't say that there aren't other inhabited planets when we don't even know through science or otherwise.
