Hey BE! I want to make a small little review for all of you in regards to the coolest FPS I have ever played....Battlefield 3! This review is for the PC version, because what other version is even worth playing
![]() Ok lets begin with eye candy. All I can say is WOW. I have played many different stunning games over the last 10 years. One game that I use to always say had the best graphics was the original Crysis. A game that could tear down the most powerful of computers. But Battlefield 3, is a whole new ball game. Everything from the sun rays, dirt on your lenses, dust on your lenses, lighting on your weapon, shadows, sky, water....just everything is so realistic it is scary. Now not to say that you do need to have a decent card to enjoy these settings, I am sure lower settings are still going to look nice to. To give you an idea what you will need to play this game at max settings, I will use my system as a model. Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (3.4ghz OC) with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 copper pipe CPU fan RAM: 4GB DDr2 800mghz Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 570 OC, with 3 Turbo spin fans HDD: 1TB Case: Thermaltake Element G The most important by far is the graphics card. I bought this new one specifically for this game. A key thing to remember is that RTS (Real Time Strategy) such as Company of Heroes, are more CPU and RAM based then graphics based. Graphics card is still extremely important, but not as much as the processor and RAM. BF3, is a graphics card power hog, and uses everything it can. I am playing it on a 24inch HD monitor, and the game uses all 1.2GB video ram on the card. Bigger the monitor, the more video memory you need to have on the card, this is a important key for all games. AA and screen size use up video memory. Now with all of this said, my average fps is about 40-60 fps, once a while dropping down to the mid 30's. 30 FPS is the threshold the human eye can see, anything above that your brain can't recognize as going faster, but always the higher fps the greater, hence large explosion dropping fps, if your already at 50 it might only go down to 30, so you see no lag. Enough on the graphics analysis, lets talk about game play. Battlefield 3 has 6 game modes, Large Conquest, Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush,Squad DM, and only seen in BF 1942, Team DM. I honestly haven't been able to play all of them, but they were all in BC2 besides the team DM. Maps are bigger, and a lot badder. More vehicles (BF2 aspect brought back) and finally even including jets. Vehicle destruction has been dramatically improved, your vehicle can be taken out in many different ways, and you don't just blow up all the time. Realistic vehicle physics have been added. Weapons are incredible. Those that played the older BF's will recognize the similarities between them. It feels more like Battlefield then BC2, but it still has the fun COD modifications. Prone is back, which I haven't seen since COD 4. Both the prone and crouching have realistic character movements when getting from and to the desired position. So you can't shoot while going into a prone or getting out of it, your guy actually uses his hands to get back up. All adds to the realism of the game. Sniper reflection is a brand new aspect added, which I think is really cool. On the Beta and Alpha, you could see the reflection off of an enemy snipers scope no matter what angle you were from the shooter. Thank god they fixed that. Now the sniper has to be aiming directly at you for there to be a reflection, a huge improvement from the beta. Weapon attachments are numerous, from rails, lasers, flashlights, heavy barrels, bipods (which you can deploy), and scopes. All which actually have functions, you can blind with a flashlight or laser, both really cool. To be continued....... ![]() |

You don't need windows 7 to play it Impos. You just wont be able to enjoy DX11. Pyrex, you will be able to play, that is a weaker processor though but you should be fine.
