Ok guys so I just found this game. (installing atm) AND ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - Epic First Impressions Anyway... still haven't tried it yet. I will give you all my impressions of it. Also for those who have not heard Bethesda is making an Elder Scrolls MMO! As you all know I am a fairly big fan of Oblivion, Skyrim Ect. ![]() ![]()

Nice. Speaking of Bethesda... Have you tried Dishonored? Pretty cool.

I have not, it looks interesting though magic isn't really my thing however Skyrim made me actually use it for more than healing because of the ward/shield spells.
I have spent the last 4 hours I should have been sleeping playing Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. First impression- AWESOME! Second Impression- Man this game sucks. Third Impression- OMFG I LOVE THIS GAME! And yeah I basically jumped back and forth between thinking the game was awesome while getting kills, and thinking it sucked when I got face rolled multiple time repeatedly because I was playing an archer class against heavily armored knights wielding shields while trying to fight them from 5 feet away. Bet you can guess how that turned out. Basically it's pretty epic, but it's not oblivion or skyrim or any other first person game I have ever played. It has a learning curve which isn't all that steep. You have to know how to time your blocks and attack, kind of like skyrim for those of you who play the game however it has it's own unique feel. You can stab, slash kick and even punch your enemies. In most classes you get a ranged weapon option, or a shield. As an archer you get a short sword or dagger. There are mission biased games with multiple objectives similar to that of Team Fortress 2 or further back, Wolfestine. All in all I would say worth the $25 they are charging on steam, though it's very likely that it will become repetitive rather quickly, but its still skill biased so I expect some people to continue playing it over and over like people play COD games. To get a basic idea of what kind of experience this game can bring you imagine this, you're standing in front of a gate outside a castle. You have just witnessed your fellow soldiers and countless defenseless villagers cut down. Only you and a fistful of bloodied and bruised men stand between your enemies and the survivors of their onslaught just behind the gates. You're outnumbered, and running low on ammo. You fire your bow as fast and accurate as you can taking down several at range, but they keep pressing forward. You're not fighting for honor, or even freedom, but your vary life. one by one the remaining men fall by your side. You pull the last arrow from your quiver, look up to see not only one or two, but more enemies than you have time to count charging across the small bridge to your position. Your first thought is to run, but all that lies behind you is a sealed door, and behind that the small portion of your family that escaped the bloodshed. You take a deep breath, pull the bow string back one last time, you take aim at your closest attacker, and release the arrow. It flies striking him down in mid swing, you step to the right to avoid the blow as he falls at your feet. You take grip on your sword, your last hope to survive. You let out an earth shaking battle cry as you charge blade first across the bridge. A hail of arrows fly from the battlements above striking everyone around you. A trumpet sounds and your enemies begin to flee before you, you survived. I HAD THAT EXACT EXPERIENCE! ![]() ![]()

This weekend Chivalry Medieval Warfare is free to play on steam as well as being on sale. Which means all of you have a chance to try it to see if you like it before you buy it at reduced cost. It's a pretty fun game to play although it is still a little rough around the edges. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
