India unveiled the cheapest laptop in the world . Price of the device with a touch screen , similar to Apple's case, declared , is $ 35. Minister for Human Resources Development Kapil Sibal said ,that the device is intended primarily for students and the ministry is currently negotiating with manufacturers around the world to launch its mass production. Hopes to appear on the market in 2011.
Gadgets Linux operating system has a web browser , PDF reader , allowing video conferencing . Its hardware is flexible enough to incorporate new components to the needs of users . It also has the option of solar power , but that is a bonus . The Government's aim is to further reduce its price to $ 20 , or up to ten dollars.
The laptop was developed by two leading Indian technology institutes .

"This is a reply to 100 dollars MIT's computer",said Sibal . In 2005, co-founder of MIT's Nicholas Negroponte introduced the prototype of the laptop at $ 100 intended for children from "3rd world" . India however rejected it , because it was too expensive and went to development on its own and cheaper versions .

Price of the laptop from MIT eventually climbed to nearly $ 200 in May ,but Negroponte nonprofit organization called One Laptop Per Child said ,that it plans to introduce basic tablets in the price of 99 USD
