two basics techniques to let you kill bigger aliens than you thought possible.
1. Circling This is simply circling round and round the enemy whilst shooting it. If done at the right distance it cuts down the amount of times the enemy will shoot you. If done at the perfect distance it will not be able to shoot you at all, so you can actually charge up your shields whislt killing something. 2. Dragging This is also self explanatory by name, lock on and start atacking something then retreat away till it tell s you your out of range. then wait, maybe even hit repair. Before long it'll back in range and you'll be shooting it, simply back away again and just repeat this process. Remember its better to lose a kill than be killed, there's no shame in retreating, who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day. You can always, after getting back to a portal and repairing, chase him down and kill him, just keep the lock on. And a complete list of the NPCs and there stats can be found here http://en.board.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/showthread.php?t=8351 |

Another little tip i should post down; especially useful when your killing the aliens and get swamped by smaller ships;
Using the dragging technique take the NPC your fighting towards the portal, within a certain radius of it the smaller ships will not follow, then do a little loop de loop round the portal and carry on, this will keep the little hships off your back for a while. And you never know, people at the portal may join in and help. Also if you've bitten off more than you cna chew and end up nearly dead, just jump portals. This is the method i use in 3-5 and 3-7 for mlords and bks i usualy go portal to portal, loop it, then back to the portal i came from and just keep doing that, keeps the smaller ships off your back long enough to reapair the sheild some. And also using the drag technique, once you get out of range hit repair quickly, you wont have long to repair, but itll give you about 4k of hit points back, if you keep doing this everytime you retreat it all adds up |
