Or perhaps this should read ..or the lack there of..
I have always felt this clan lacks a certain amount of direction and have sought to gain some. I have recently been complimented from a few different people on Celtic Cubs being perhaps 'the best training clan on DO' this i find unlikely but the compliments have not fallen on deaf ears. This does not mean however that we have achieved anything, nor have we reached the potential of either clans. To this end i have come up with a few new systems to generate an improve in what we are really all about. Firstly to improve the turn around of C~C pilots, and this was an idea suggested first of all by joffy, specific trainers for C~C members. This will involve creating a new rank within C~W, rather than have a particular member to member relationship or 'mentor' as joffy called it, C~W will employ a number of members to train C~C cubs whos jobs will be to help train and teach, and help earn credits. I say employ because this will attract a salary on top of your usual one. They can be taken on as short term roles to ensure you can still train yourself and gain experience or you can take them on long term. But due to the salary you will have to spend a good amount of your online time helping. The salary is yet to be fixed upon but will certainly be enough to cover ammo and help you upgrade your own ship. |

However, i have never seen the sole basis of this clan to train. Celtic Cubs is doing a great job getting pilots to the upper levels but upon reaching C~W i feel it is possible to stagnate there, there is no further incentive to improve and no real direction towards efforts.
To try and provide inspiration to all C~W members we shall create an extra stepping stone towards the bridge we hope to expand across the universe - the creation of another Clan, the final step in acheiving Celtic Warriorhood - The Celtic Elites 60 or C~60. This will be for all memembers who have achieved Full Elite status and topped 60 million XP. This will provide a great tool to problem solve for C~W and C~C, able to declare war on any clan who troubles our siblings, able to protect lower maps and forge strong bonds with other powerful clans within VRU, help transport C~W members across the battlemaps when necessary. The members of this clan will all be given a role to play be it protecting C~W, C~C, dealing with troublemaking VRU or cargo thieves but ultimately of course all members of C~60 will be charged with protecting vru maps, killing EIC and MMO and rasing the prestige of our celtic heritage. Another way this clan will benefit C~W hugely is to provide a different manner of getting credits into the hands of those who deserve it. There will be an alteration in how clan credits are given out. This will of course take some refinement as we will have to see the general income of the streamlined C~W and C~60 clans but certainly for the early part of the new clans birth C~W will go to a set rate of basic pay, instead of basing it on xp gained. We will hope to return to xp gain-based pay rates in the near future but until we find out if this is possible clan pay will be 500k and 250k per member per week for C~W and C~C respectively. All members possessing ranks will recieve 1m per week in C~W and 500k per week in C~C. BUT C~60 will have the bulk of the clan production, and this will be given out as follows - every week decisions wil be made amongst the clan hierarchy on who the best pilots have been during that week and the two most deserving pilots, a combination of helpfulness, aptitude, improvement and xp gained amonsgt other things, will be put forward to enter C~60 and recieve a giant windfall of credits to aid their own pursuit of one day entering this clan. On recieving these credits they will move back into their respective clans. Decisions still need to be made, whether they will be one from each clan or solely base on performance, whether it will be an even split 50-50 or if the warrior gains a higher percentage, ro the cub even, many details to fine tune, but the beginning of another golrious path is ahead of us. I wanted to involve you all in this from teh outset. I know when the idea of the cubs first came about there was a large feeling of resentment from many of you, but i hope you see now that it was a great thing for the clan and has benefitted us immensely. I hope there is no ill feeling towards this idea, perhaps if there is you can look back on the decision to create the cubs, see it was the right choice, and trust my judgement. I await your thoughts. Assuming a decent responce to these ideas they should be implemented within the next few weeks. Tru |

As before Tru i think you have a good idea here, it would give more incentive to lvl up and help ppl out more to get in for a chance to get large credit payments.

Tru it is a good idea you have there but help should only be giving to the pilots that want to help themselves otherwise it would be pointless because the lower pilots would become to depending on the trainers to help them. Therefore the trainers should only help the lower pilots get to a certain level then see how they cope themselves, if the pilots can't cope then more help could be giving until the pilot can defend themselves against some of the basic alians such as mordons or devs.

very true danielb. care would have to be taken to ensure that the training officers were chosen wisely - patience would be key, both in training and in dealing wiht constant requests for assistance - but it would be upto the officers to decide how best to spend their time, if for example several different peopel at once wanted help - those not learning and depending too much on help could tag along while the TO trains others and watch and learn - this would be the basis of it im guessing.
EDIT: please put points like this on the mentor thread as it is a good point worth more discussion

The Idea of a mentor is a good one, blood helped me back in the day and I try and help others where possible, the only downside to this as far as I can see would be; The mentor and trainee would need to co-ordinate their times on DO together, this would create a lots of problems for most as setting times is difficult. Perhaps a way to overcome this would be for a group of Mentors looking after say 10 cubs, that way if a cubs online but the mentors not then it would easy for another mentor to assist.
My only issue with C60 is that I wouldnt want to see an influx of outsiders and prefer people working their way up the ranks, much along the lines on c-cb to c-w at the moment, that way friendships are built. |

I feel that if we rely on the upbringing of C~Cb and C~W into the ranks of C~60, the loyalty of the CELTS will prevail. Perhaps there could be a vote for "outsider" applicants into C~60.
I do have to say, however, the CELTS have such a good thing going that I only hope that the members that are in realize how good it is here. My Highest Regards to All CELTS, BLOOD |
