This sub-forum is designed for the public, and especially regulars who play each day/night, to chit chat and/or to inform the <COLLECTORS> admin of any violations/troublemakers.
Trying to not be a dictator, and "go with the flow" with the public, but can't be so free willing that gameplay is disturbed for most - and especially regular nightly/daily players. Quickmatches fills the server of players, but like PUGs in MMOs, less than ideal players can and do show up to troll and just be a pain in the backside. This is where -YOU- can help. Since I can't be on the server 24/7, those of you who play constantly on the server, let me know of violators, for: 1. Cheating: If you see someone have ultra high kills, report it. It's simply impossible this early in the game to have 60+ kills and little deaths (especially with all the grenade and rocket damage). 25/0 is possible with a good team of rezzers, but 64/0 or 64/3, it's an obvious cheater. Cheating maybe fun for the cheater, but for others it's frustrating and those others don't want to play with those who can't play fair. If the ladder leagues place so much emphasis on anti-cheat, it's because good players want a good competition. Aimbots, wall hacks and such doesn't encourage gameplay about skills, it shows someone who has to buy their own epeen. Sad sacks. 2. Profanity: Because families play, and those who play at work that may have HR policies about extreme profanity, this server has a "keep it clean" chat policy. Since it is a game, cussing can occur here and there, but some words are just not said with mixed company (had to ban a couple players for using the "N" word, for example). Extreme profanity is met by a server message to "keep it clean", so players will have a warning. If it's language you can't say to your employer or mom, keep it off the server. This also ensures players feeling better of their environment and to concentrate on playing the game...not the players. 3. Trollers: If you ever played World of Warcraft you'd understand two terms - basement boys and tradechat. Trollers usually are kids who's social life is pretty lame (e.g., typical basement boy who has little social interaction, and social skills, from living in mom's basement) that by getting negative attention they feel important. They can be very nasty and vindictive even. These types add nothing but drama, in a game about teamwork. If you see obvious drive-bys like those (and not just because you dislike XYZ - that's a personal disagreement), please post their names and times of their troll-a-thon. Can GUID ban bad players to ensure and to encourage a top-notched teamwork gameplay. In short, this server encourages group play and a good environment to do both. Let me know when this isn't happening, and I will try to correct the situation. Thanks for coming by, and I encourage server regulars to communicate here. Let's meet and greet! - Admin-Leader: [COL]UNATCOII ![]() |
