Im on my front porch with the wife 2 nights ago having a beer grillin some burgers. All of a sudden 2 guys speed up to my nieghbors house, jump out and run for his 2010 suv. One guy pulls out a slim jim whilst the other looks around in a nervous way. I tell the wife "grab the camera and the phone" I yell over to the 2 guys "hey...wtf you doing to my guys car?" One of them gives me the finger and tells me to **** off. We exchange a few four letter words and take some pictures and get the cops on the phone. Next thing i know there are a 1/2 dozen high powers rifles aimed at me by guys in full gear. they are screaming at ME to get on the ground and not move. Im handcuffed removed and they commence with the questions. At one point they ask the wife to interview my 6 year old ALONE without parent or any kind of representation whatsoever. My wife being a smart cookie tells them to *** off. The number one question "Where is the Gun?"
I explain to them there was NO Gun and that i do not own a gun! They request a search of the house and we grant it (we have nothing to hide). Come to find out that the 2 idiots stealing the car were repo men. They called police and told them i was shooting at them! I replied to the police " yea i shot them a few times...wanna see the camera?".After a huge spectical and multiple neighbors coming to my defence the police are satisfied that there was no gun. Im un cuffed and advised. GET THIS! quote: "Next time you think a crime is being committed, Mind your own buisness" Thats right.. Local police telling a citizen to not respond in any way to a crime being commited in front of my eyes. I was also in formed that the next time this happens im going to be charged with A: menasing, B: intimidation, C: Creating a panic. I have always been vigilant of my area and look out for those around me. This will never happen again. I will never put my self in harms way again when not even law enforcment gives a rats ass. Sorry about the rant... But i had to vent and i dont DARE speak negatively to anyone in this area for fear it will get back to local police and i myself could become a target of there sublime peace keeping tactics!!!!! Moral of this story: Mind your own buisness or get thrown in jail for being what you perceive to be good citizenship! cheers |

I think you did the right thing. I would have done the same. Those repomen should have identified themselves.

it's sypmtomatic of the society in which we find ourselves living in today. it's fuck you and be damned. a sad indictment i know and the honest person is the persecuted whilst the human rights of rapists, paedophiles and other scum take precedence over ours! i don't blame you for the attitude towards this; i would probably react the same.
justice wtf is it? here across the pond there once was a boy of ten who with his friend led a 3 year old away from a shopping mall, they sexually abused him (shoved batteries up his rectum), beat him, kicked him, then dropped an old sink on his head killing him. because of their young age they were sent to a youth offenders centre, from where they were released at the age of 18, given new identiities (to protect their human rights against any sort of revenge attacks) and moved to a different part of the uk. yesterday one of them was rejailed after admitting downloading and file sharing child pornography. and you know the most sickening part of this whole sordid affair...............he will be given a NEW identity at my taxes expense! to protect his human rights to a safe life upon his release!!! in my opinion he lost all claims on human rights issues the day he led 3 year old jamie bulger to his agonising death. i don't agree with the death penalty but i feel he should be released to society and left to fend for himself.........i doubt he would last very long. harps |

Update: As of this afternoon my wife asked me if it was legal or appropriate to interview my 6 year old son with the purpose of obtaining information in wich to use against me. Apparently an "Officer of the law" insisted that he be allowed to interogate my son in private. Im not sure if this is legal (i will find out). Im very sure (at least in my mind)
Its totally innapropriate! |

It isn't not legal to interview a minor without a parent unless there is a court order and that is ussually only done in family court. Repomen often use this tactic to get assistance (in uniform) during repos. It basically gives them back up with a badge. All they need is time to get away with the collateral.
The law in most states says that they are allowed to repo collateral if; No barriers are removed (opening gates) or remove another vehicle to access the collatera. If there is no breach of peace But if they violate these rules and no one sees it, they get away with it. Only recourse you have is to file a complaint with the Police department. ![]() |

its not the repo men...its the realization that the police have NO boundarys and that the common citizen is helpless to challenge them in anyway!

Like I said, file a complaint with the department or maybe the department's internal affairs office
