DDD needs you now.
We are going to try something new. The main WAR server will now start using the Open Warfare mod. This mod enables us to disable things like Martyrdom, Rifle Grenades and Flamer Throwers. It also provides spawn protection, Anti-Camping and forces Auto Assign along with many other options to customize the server in ways the stock game either doesn't allow or they just don't work. The options are limitless.
This mod will also allow us to slowly begin to introduce some custom maps which I believe are better than some of the stock maps.
As the last map packs/updates have shown, we can't depend on Treyarch to fix the many problems the game has nor produce good maps for the Total War game mode. The Open war fare mod is only 7.5mb in size and will download quickly. We know that there are some players who have the Allow Downloads options disabled in Multiplayer Options, so we have been running console messages to inform them to please enable it.
at first, we will likely see a drop in the number of players connecting to the server. but we expect that to be short term. in the long run, we think that this game and our server will benefit from this mod. There are many servers now using mods for the same reasons and they are starting to benefit from it. This also means many more players have been allowing downloads as this is the only way they can play on these servers.

Now is the time we need everyone to step up to the plate and show your support for our server. We need all of you to connect to the server and stay connected for as long as you can until we can bring our players back to the level we are at today. If you don't have the time to play, at least stay connected in spectate. As you all are aware, DDD is a free server and charges no fees to its players or members. All we have ever asked is your dedication to our server. Now is that time again. Most of you were here since the beginning of this server and you have made it what it is today, the #1 WAR server in the world.
So please, when you receive this email connect to the server. As soon as we have a full house of members and registered guest we will restart the server between maps and start the task of repopulating this great server again.
