Due to the lack of support for the mod, the main WAR server was restarted this morning in stock mode again. I want to thank all of you (members and non members) who dedicated so much time and effort to make it work. It would have been nice if it worked. We wanted to get some custom maps and disabling Marty, Flamers and Rifle nades sure felt great while it lasted. But unfortunately, the commitment wasn't there.

Sorry it didn't work out - I just posted to another thread congratuling you. Ah well, nevermind! It's still the best server out there.

Its a shame it didn't work out. It sure was fun to get back to the hardcore rules. The new maps made the game interesting again and knowing everyone had to follow the rules was just great. I for one really hope it comes back to this great server. Unfortunately i'm growing bored with the normal game at this point.

I was thinking that perhaps the mod wasn't give enough time to catch on. Mebbe you should post a date in the recurring console messages to let all of the other players know that the mod will be available? It caught me a little by surprise as I had no idea it was happening, but I really enjoyed playing on it and it might be worth another try.

I'm surprised you ended the experiment this fast. The server seemed to be busy when I was on during prime evening hours and there didn't seem to be a drop off until after 11:00pm estern time.
