You are naive if you seriously believe that just because you buy the latest, most expensive gadget, your music will automatically be better, or that you will suddenly wake up as a better producer. This belief is not based on reality, but on a marketing that wants us to feel like we have to upgrade.
They want to sell us the idea that "more is better", but that mentality is not always true. In fact, it is often downright harmful. It distracts us from what really counts: mastering our tools, developing our craft, and letting our unique ideas guide the creative process.
And yes, I know. Some will call me a jerk for running an "old" DAW. Let them. That's their problem, it's just the status of the buyer version, not the musician, not mine. For me it's not about terabytes of plugins or 80000000000000-bit I can sit with my old FL Studio 3.5 and create gabber Trance goa who wonder how it's even possible. a long time ago people created music on Atari ST C64 Amiga it will be asked wonder how it's even possible today ,
Do you need proof that the "more is better" mentality is crap? Check out ,PixiTracker ,Sound Club ,Milkytracker. These little DAWs, built on tracker principles, are a marvel of efficiency. This won't hug your CPU! You can literally run PixiTracker on an Intel Pentium II without any problems whatsoever! "Pro Tools Pro or Logic Pro doesn't make you a pro — just because it's called that."
It's almost comical how some people still fall into that classic trap.
They think that just because a program is called Pro Tools, you automatically become a pro.
"But it's called PRO Tools, that must mean it's for PROFESSIONALS!"
Yes, and chocolate balls make you a ball, right?
That naive belief lives strong among the status quo guards — those who are terrified of someone doing something different, with simpler or cheaper tools.
They cling to their expensive licenses, because that's all they have left. Not talent. Not creativity. Just the price tag.
The real pro is not in the tool. It's in the head. In the ideas. In the persistence.
Do you want to be a pro?
