Already heard and raged about Ubisoft's new copy protection, the UbisoftStarter?

This protection is integrated into every new game by Ubi and requires a permanent internet connection to play the games. If you lose the connection during the game, you won't be able to continue the game and need to start from your last save when the connection is back.

That is a slap into the face of every honest gamer who bought their games for years now. And it's even more a slap to claim that this would be a great service for the player because they can store savegames on Ubi's server. That's bullshit, who would want to play a singleplayer game's save at the other side of the world?!
If the player would have the free choice to use this "service", it would be ok, but since Ubi knows that nobody would choose this, they just don't give you a choice.

Ubisoft used to make many good games, but this is just pathetic. It's sad, I really would have liked to play Splinter Cell: Conviction, Assasin's Creed 2, the new Prince of Persia,… but not like this. The only thing to is that Ubi will realise that the sells will go back drastically, that the copy protection is cracked in two weeks and that they will remove the protection with a patch when the game goes to the budget games…

Other games that are affected for now:
Silent Hunter 5
Ghost Recon Predator
and who knows, maybe the Settlers 7 too…

I knew it wouldn't take long until it's cracked. Now we can only hope that Ubi sees that their argument has no value at all anymore. They can either remove it or it will be obvious that they just want to kill the second hand market…
