Choices in Online Games
The big crevice between the virtual and reality is reducing second by second. All that had seemed virtual a moment ago is real now. This thinning of the line between virtual and real is happening very fast in the games zone on the internet. There was a time when games were played singularly or in a group, either inside or outside. There were limits to what games could and could not do. Computer games just broke these walls of limitations.

Then came computer games when people were pitched against the mean machines. They were programmed in the machine with various levels of competency. Players played against the computer and judged for themselves where they stand. Games, such as chess, and prince were popular then. Then came consoles which were offered single, as well as multiple player options. These ruled the popularity charts for a long time.

This further expanded to the games being played on LAN. These games offered more real-like experience to the players. Games based on races, chases, wars were popular in LAN types. Though these games were more realistic in 3D and giving a simulating effect, they still had a constraint of time and place. Friends from different locations had to collect at the point of LAN to play these games.

Internet games changed all this. What were they offered were for single and multiple players. You could play an outdoor game sitting indoors. Friends from US, Tokyo, India could all play the same game sitting in different countries in different time zones. It satiated your desire for anything sitting in the comfort of your own home. You could water your plants in your virtual garden, take care of your virtual pet, build your dream home and also walk the moon. Everything is available at your doorsteps or rather, fingertips.
