Here is how to make a 1.7 version for COD4.

1. Locate your COD4 folder. Most likely it is called this: C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare

2. Copy the "Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare" folder and then paste it in the same folder (Activision) or to your desktop. If you copy it to the same folder (Activision) then rename the copied version to something like "COD4MW17".

3. Download the 1.7 patch: http://www.gs96gaming.com/ftp/cod4mw17.exe

4. Run the patch directing the source as the copied version of COD4 you did in Step 2.

5. Go to the copied verion of 1.7 (C:\Program Files\Activision\COD4MW17) and locate the executable file: iw3mp.exe

6. Copy & Paste the iw3mp.exe file to your desktop then rename it as "COD4MW17".

You should now be able to run 1.7 while still having 1.6.
