After 25 years in business we go chapter 7 Thursday at which time I will be officially unemployed.

25 Years at the same job... where does the time go.

Meh.. super tough for the last year or so, been moody bitter, scared... maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

I'll be on the free cheese line if anyone's looking for me.

As much attention as the recession got after Lehman's collapse two years ago, I think the impact of the depression (I don't buy recession label) is really hitting now. Our main street has commercial occupancy rates of less than 60%.

Sorry to hear you'll be out of work. I've been through that before and I would not wish that on anybody. At least the recession seems to be easing a bit and there should be some growth in the economy in Q3-Q4 of 2010.

I don't call it a recession either. There has been some growth. The hotel I work at, has been doing better than last year so far.

The impact of the depression still been felt though. There are still businesses closing and ppl still losing their jobs. Here in Florida the unemployment rate is 12.3%. Higher than the national average.

Sorry to hear that. I feel for you. I understand the anxiety you must have been feeling the past. I know I was one moody person the past year worrying about our jobs. Hopefully, something better will come out of this for you. My prayers are with you.
