Comcast has just announced that my cable has just benefitted from an upgrade of my internet speeds at no extra cost. The term bullshit comes immediately to mind.
As you know, I basically hate Comcast. My cable has been plagued by microbursts that cause connection interruptions and, until I had a service rep come to my home and maximize my connection, I was getting speeds from my cable that were only slightly above cheep DSL. 400-700 kbps. After the cable guy fixed connection issues, the best performance I have had was 1.5 mbps. Comcast claims that my speed should have been at 3 mbps. Now, they claim that speeds are being boosted "up to" 4 mbps uploads and "up to" 20 mbps downloads. The operative phrase here is "up to". When I go home, I will be "power cycling" my modem but I'm willing to bet that my speeds are no different than before. Any takers? Sailus |

As Baby's father said in Dirty Dancing, "when I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong." At least in part. Comcast is up to 2 mpbs. Not quite the 4-20 they advertised but still an improvement. I give them a tepid c+.
