If there is any truth to this it seems PBBANS has thrown in the towel and will shut down. I know they have been having issues for the last month or so with DDOS attacks but I never thought they would just give in.

I always viewed them as a top notch AC org and it would be a real loss if they were to just shut down.

And what are DDOS attacks anyway that they would just, well, quit?

I read your post there and it seemed like a lot of stuff wasnt known, just thought you might have come across something just recently.

Yesterday PBBANS was down most of the day due to these attacks, the data center where the equipment is was not willing to help so they told them to pull the plug and ship the servers back to the owner.

It seems there are three folks over at PBBANS that run the show and their explanation for just walking away:

1)Expense to move and host their equipment at a data center that will help them with DDOS attacks.

2)Time and effort/motivation to keep PBBANS running.

3)Lack of donations recently.

4)Tired of dealing with hackers and eb.

Having said that I believe they will be back, I see them hinting that they are investigating a new data center already.

To me the knee jerk reaction of just "pulling the plug and calling it quits" doesn't sit well.. but hey they do what they do and do it well.... if they should decide to continue.

I have PBBANS latest ban list so we will enforce that, we have a good set of pb configs and stream to PsB and AON as well.

Most of the AC orgs and evenbalance have been attacked that last couple of months. Evenbalance was down for the better part of a day 2 days ago.

A Ddos attack is when someone gets abunch of ip's and sends a massive signal to wherever they want. It happened to twitter like 2 weeks ago and facebook also. It cripples the servers cuz they get overloaded and they are rendered useless.

Oh and if you could please ban these people EMOmuslim, MaDLloyD, and $niperman99. They were being very racist at around midnight the 26-27th.

I banned EMOmuslim bd9014e1aca4dbd36d957f3b23d280b0 from the servers and forwarded the chat logs to Ice for a second opinion on the other two.
