I'm sure some of you have MW2. What is IW.net like. Do you have to wait in purgatory for a game to start?

I'm pretty sure MK was running out at midnight to get it... I've never seen him post here but maybe he'll be on vent.

I got it and love it .... the weapons are sick . maps are really cool . Tons of stuff to unlock.
I have been on some servers and the lag was horrible. The single player is as good if not better than cod 4 . The russian raid on the airport is crazy ! |

Sounds about right. I don't play single player (haven't played any of the COD series in single player). The IW.net thing is really unattractive to me.
How long are the wait times between games? Have you had any host migration issues? Seen any hackers? I think there's gonna be a lot of em. New hacks are circulating on the web as we speak. There appears to be no admins available, right? I hate being in a room and feeling like I'm babysitting. Nothin here that makes me want to rush out and buy the dam thing. Enjoy it though! BF beta in a few weeks. H2K gonna have a BF beta server? Sailus I guess I was right about hackers. IW's website is down and has, apparently, been hacked. Her we go!

Before I played COD4, I spent quite a bit of time playing a game called Warrock. It was a free online FPS shooter that ran out of a console lobby much like IW.net. It was also p2p. The lag issues associated with p2p were bad enough but hackers made the game unplayable.
At first, it started with aimbots and wall hacks. It progressed to a hacks that defeated vote kicking, so the hackers could take control of any room they choose. There were a few admins who would show up from time to time and ban a hacker here and there, but in parge part, it was so wide spread that it killed the game. MW2 has been set up in a nearly identical fashion to Warrock's console emulating system. It is just as vulnerable, as the hack videos clearly show. I fear that history will be repeating itself in MW2. Imma just stand clear and wait till some of the smoke clears. Sailus |

Oh Yes! I'm so happy! 1st day out and it's been hacked. One of my favorites quotes I've seen from the responses to the hackers is"
"IW Got Owned"! Ha Ha! IW got Powned! Some other Favorite Qoutes is: "Quick! Someone kick the hacker!" "BUT...BUT...IWNET PREVENTS HAXXXORRSS!!!" "oh lol. hacks already? we're fucked." and lastly, "F^#k Infinity Ward!" |

There are hackers on consoles too. Just as bad and maybe worse the on PC.
I know a guy that plays COD 4 on console and was complaining about how it seemed that almost all the games he played a hacker was already there or would come in. IW is saying that they will ban hackers but that does really work? Can't a hacker get a new IP or GUI and be back again hacking? How does banning on console work? I have read that there are some stiff penalties when caught cheating through steam. How well does that really work? |
