I got a brand new Galaxy GTS 250 GeForce card and IDK what it is but I have worst FPS with it on the lowest settings than I do with my 8800 GT on the highest settings. Can anyone explain why this is?

If you haven't done it already I would uninstall all Nvidia programs and drivers then reinstall the latest drivers from Nvidia.

I've been having a problem with intermittent lag ever since a driver update last spring. At the begining of every game, I get this wierd lag for a minute or so. My frames start at 45 or 50 and run up to 250 or so. Then they drop right back to 45 or 50 and I get a momentary hesitation (and usually get killed at that point) and the cycle repeats. After a minute of two, the frames settle down in their normal range and the game is fine. Occasionally, but rarely, the same thing will happen during a game for a minute or two. When it does, I have to go hide for minute until it pases. I have updated the drivers (I have the NVIDIA automitic update feature selected on my computer). Ever heard of someting like this? Ya think its NVIDIA related of does Comcast still suck? The reason I don't think its the ISP is because of the pattern of repeating at the begining of each game? Any ideas Mr. Wizard? You remenber that show? Sailus |

You think it could be that i didn't uninstall my last video card before putting in the new one? Because my last one was made by XFX with directx10 and I don't think the new one has Directx10 installation on it. |

Other then making sure there are no non-essential programs running, especially anti virsu it's probably just a chokepoint with the MOBO or CPU. Well then, I'm chokeing. I use gamebooster to turn off all other non-essential programs, so I don't think its that. BTW, wtf was this those Mets the other night? Do they only wake up for the Phils? Sailus |
