to expolit the opening that IW/Activision has given them. It announced today that it will be resurrecting its Medal of Honor series, (more squad level, tactical game then BF series) which was originally designed to complete with COD. In the past, COD titles have kicked EA's ass, but they obviously smell a disgruntled base of PC users. They're smelling blood in the water.

All they have to do is to make a COD4 clone and then update it the way it should have been and they will have a hit game.

The game designers at IW were fugitives from EA. They left, improved on designs that started at EA and built the COD title. Medal of Honor series was always an also ran. Now they are coming out with a modern warfare game in 2010 to exploit IW and Activision's bitchslap to the PC community. This could get interesting.

Blood in the water... sharks circling... competition makes for a better product generally.

Wonder if there will be law suits filed over the "Modern Warfare" tag.

I bet EA is doing it intentionally to get some attention.

it will be interesting to watch if there is a law suit.

Even if they loose, EA would end up winning. They would make more then enough of sales to offset any loses. That's assuming they make a better product then IW and loose the suit

EA's Modern Warefare game has actually been in development and will likely be released in the first quarter of 2010 (February or March).

This gets more interesting by the day. EA is sure to keep the MW tag and there will probably be some legal maneuvering but it will not stop the game from release. I doubt that IW is going to be able to lay claim to Modern Warfare as a trademark.

BTW, I agree that the competition will be good for the game.
